First few times I fired a Garand I didn't even notice the recoil till later that evening. The weight plus the flat buttplate distributes the kick better than the older musket butt of the Enfields.

Airgun Depot often has refurbs for sale. I ordered two refurbed Umarex Colts and both functioned like new. One had a scratch on the top strap the other was like new without a mark on it. I can hit a drink can at 25 yards at every shot with either...

Problems with heavy bullet loads in the Garand were due to the slow burning powders normally used in such loads. So long as the powder used doesn't generate excessive gas port pressures there should be no problem.

I wonder if anyone is reboring and rifling airgun barrels to larger diameter, or installing liners? It might salvage some very nice older guns with damaged bores.

The fewer manufacturers of what amounts to a low volume of sales specialty item the less competition as far as prices go. That and the fact that in mass production setting up to produce ten thousand items costs nearly as much as producing ten...

The AK 47 bayonet was inspired by the Swede 94 bayonet. "The AK47 Bayonet The AK47 assault rifle was introduced during a period in history when the bayonet's future was in debate. In the decade following the outbreak of the Second World War,...

A rifled barrel to allow best use of lead BBs would extend accurate range. A velocity of 550-600+ FPS with lead pellets is more consistent with CO2 rifles in this class like the 10/77. There are several CO2 pistols that use belt drive magazines...

I've heard most like that had .314 bores, though I'm sure there was a lot of variation. The .312 Hornady 150 gr works very nicely in .303 British and 7.62X54R rifles with bores of .314 or larger. It should work fine in a rechambered 7.65 rifle....

Spain bought a number of WW1 surplus GEW98 rifles that had been converted to 7mm by sleeving the bores and re-cutting the chambers. If not sleeved it may have been re-barreled instead. Several Central European countries used 98 type actions...

Could 7.62X51 NATO cases be sized to work in a 7.65X53 Chamber? I know that the Kortnek 7mm being 4mm too short was a problem for the Boers due to not filling out the chamber neck but if cast Boolits and mild loads are used it shouldn't be a problem.

If a large enough amount of an explosive, even an otherwise very safe propellant catches fire it may not need to be confined in order to explode. The weight of the material acts to effectively confine the inner mass longer than it takes for the...
