Denny is anxiously awaiting a new flinter that one of our members is building for him. I suspect once he gets it, he won't be doing as many videos!

Once upon a time, long long ago, during the LEE group buy era, Midway had them LEE 6c handles for $11. ea and free shipping. I bought a doz pair and still have 3 unused. I've made them fit every mold I have except one. At $28 to $40 a pair for...

There is a sticky in this section on shooting smoothbores that will answer your questions, I believe. With no rear sight, i generally match or surpass my rifle scores at matches, shooting at the same targets. In most of the shoots in this area, no...

I thought electronics were supposed to make life simpler, like "the paperless society". Remember when if the round TV picture was fuzzy, you went outside and turned the antinna. If that didn't help, ya just watched a different station, after all...

The day my Dad retired, he took off his watch and placed it in a drawer. Later I ask him what day it was and he answered, "What does it matter''? Life is like that. Age changes perspective. Time is only important if you are reacting to someone...

Last spring, when I was finishing up the last of the orders for North Star West and Matt Denison, I got a idea, and called Matt. I asked him if he would be willing to make me parts for an Early English Trade gun, in exchange for pay of the last...

As I gain maturity, I get just as much, or more pleasure out of tiny holes, close together, at a great distance, on paper, as seeing an animal fall at the crack if my rifle. I now have issues walking and it's easier to traverse the mowed grassy...

Eye of squirrel is impossible when even the head of the squirrel is hard to see. Age offers you new challenges. Even center mass is a small target.

Better method I came across I've used for the last few guns I've blued. Get a section of 4" pvc, long enough to put the metal in. Get a plumbing flange to fit the pvc. This will be your most expensive part, around $25. Find a pot that this will set...

It will help if you scribe a center line before filing. Keeping the holes oriented will be lots easier.

The wet heavy snow finally topped out at 2+ inches and is leaving fast. Under the evergreens where it was thin, it's gone. The roads never got to be a problem locally, but caused several major wrecks not too far to the North. It is nice to see it...

If you got them from Crazy Crow, they ARE steel, that have been brass plated. About the only source for real domed brass tacks, is to find an old steamer trunk, and pull the tacks. Things I learned from 30+ years of museum restoration.
