M98, I bought over 3,000 9mm brass from this seller. You would be very happy with the quality of his brass. When you open the box, you think you are looking at factory new brass.

As a kid I witnessed a grain elevator explosion. For the non-rural types grain elevators are large storage silo's. Grains of wheat are barely flammable. Wheat dust on the other hand is highly flammable/explosive. While I am not interested enough...

MT Chambers, I agree with you that it is more satisfying to use the period correct rifles. On two of my buffalo I used a Pedersoli 1874 Sharps in 45/70 caliber. The other two was with a Marlin 1895 also in 45/70 caliber. In the Sharps repo I used a...

MN allows face to face for residents on handguns. No FFL required unless you purchase them for resale. Than you are in business and need an FFL.

Most of the issues are with the semi-auto's. I have Sako Quads, CZ 452 and Contenders in 17M2 and the Magnum Research in a Semi-Auto. Neck and shoulder cracks are more common than with the 17HMR but in either they are not a problem or a safety...

Your friend is giving you bad advice. Rimfire's erode from the glass beads in the priming compound. With a borescope you can see it at about 20,000 rounds. On target rifles 50,000 rounds without loss is not unusual. I know of one range rental...

Never tested for static but I have shot Blackpowder in cardboard tubes and a couple of junk 45-70 cases with 22 cal jacketed at about 3,900 FPS without detonation.

Another thing to be on the lookout for is a used small pottery kiln. It will get up to a high enough temp to anneal your brass and if you find one cheap, you are in business.

Make sure your slab is heartwood and not sapwood and you want the moisture content around 6%. Drying for 4 years in your shop should have the wood dry enough to make a gun stock that will not warp if you seal it good after finishing the stock.
