I've been using RCBS equipment for over 40 years now. To the best of my memory, there have been less than 3-4 times I have ever called upon them for assistance. They've always came through flawlessly for me. Murphy

That lock never had ANY kind of clean up or tuning. Disassemble, polish all contact surfaces. Do not change any angles on the sear! Use a strong magnifying glass, and look at the tumbler engagement notch. If it is rough, use a diamond hone to smooth...

If you have a Cardinal True Value, check them. Our local one carries a nice selection of gun screws.

Every alloy is different. I like frosty looking boolits so with my 2 alloys (96/4 & 94/4/2) I set my PID at 700 degrees then adjust the melt +/- depending on how the boolits look when they come out. In the dead of summer when itís 95+ degrees I...

Thanks for the replies and advice gentlemen. I'm sure I will be back for more later. My only cast bullet experience in rifles, has been with the 30-30. That was 15+ years ago. So for all intent and purpose, this will be a new experience for me. ...

The nipple LOOKS good? You can detect a few thousandths by eyeball? Try putting some caps on it and find out for sure.

I still smoke a pipe. I don't inhale, so I suppose it will kill me some other way.

Check your cap to nipple fit. That sounds like your problem. I use Ed's Red for lubing a lock. You can do some smoothing on your tumbler to get rid of unwanted contact on the lock plate.

I see none of the good ones in Montana listed. Most of them have more business than they can stand already. The ones who piss me off are those who hang up their shingle advertising "Gunsmithing", when all they have ever done is assemble AR15's.
