Yep, this is the correct answer. I have been making a bunch of 458 lately using 45acp brass. I don't even bother annealing the brass. Pushing it through the reducer die does require more torque :D and would buckle horribly if I was making a hollow...

I just measured one of mine. The length is 1.38". Flat base. Copper disk in base. A lead-core bullet this long would usually be more like 200 grains. I think they would be difficult to counterfeit, as long as one could see them in person.

I have 100,000+ fired 9mm, hand sorted, no aluminum or steel although some nickel (13+ 5 gallon buckets). I'll value the brass at whatever scrap value currently is. Ideally, I need pure lead to cast cores for swaging. The lead to me is worth $1 a...

Both definitions are predicated on it being used in a "handgun". Seems like one could make AP rifle rounds all day long. Ones that are not gray-area dual use (handgun and rifle). No one would ever imagine a handgun designed around the 30-378, for...

That will happen in most if not all un-annealed brass. If you run the seated core/jacket into the point form die *** end first, the resulting FMJ style will not have this problem. I've been making a bunch of 62gr FMJ lately. No annealing necessary....
