Well I started re-melting it. Have added a bit more oil and two green crayons along with a good squirt of LLA. I think this batch will be more tacky.

Well I went back to home depot to get a pre-cut length of schedule 40 pvc and used it to finish off the extra lube I made the other day. The schedule 40 pvc is the correct diameter to fit into the Lyman 450. The schedule 200 is to large and the I.D....

Sorry Dusty, I did not realize that it was a quote and a copy and paste you had put in the post in reference to the lanolin. I thought that was your formula that you used for making this type of lube. Yes, I got my information from a sticky on...

Thanks Messy bear. Does the color look right? My thinking is maybe I should have added more olive oil, but then again I've read where some have just mixed 50/50 beeswax and Crisco without the olive oil, so even if I was a little short with only a...

Dusty I was making the basic Emmert's lube, at least that was the name that was attached to that formula. Not the improved Emmert's lube, but the basic lube formula. My sticks are a slight off white color and very slick. But, since I have not ever...

Well I am needing some help on the lube makin project. I got it from a sticky. Since this is the first batch, I don't know what the consistency of this lube stick is supposed to feel like. I know how the NRA/Alox feels like, and this is not that....

Well thank you one and all. I must admit to being kind of a hoarder when it comes to my hand loading stuff, I've never sold or gotten rid of anything I have ever purchased except a set of collet dies that I did not like. I just get real attached to...

I have not seen it mentioned, but then again I did not read every post that has been written on making lube, but I think you get a better fit with the stick in your machine if you use schedule 40 pvc. I opted to use schedule 200, and my sticks are a...

Hardcast, you were correct the linkage hits the cap. I called lyman, spoke to John a tech man, he asked me if I had gotten the new caps, I told him no, none came with my two kits. He is sending me two new caps no charge. Why not give him a call.

Thx hardcast. It's amazing how lyman can do this kind of upgrade and NOT involve the engineering department so their kit is fully functional. But I guess it's another factor that makes the apparent downhill slide of what used to be a top notch...

Thanks NoZombies, I have. Most of the initial linkage from these two presses have had the pins replaced by ill fitting bolts. That was the main reason for ordering the new handles. If I ever come across a supplier of assorted pins with cotter...

Well I do still have a RS3, that I thought I would keep to do the de-cap chore, and I haven't seen it for a long time ( like maybe 10 years ) but I think I still have a RC I somewhere, but most of you know how things get lost in moves, but I know I...

Thanks for all the suggestions. I'll try the #34's first, and then I will see about regrinding the pin, wouldn't want to grind it too short, it's not like you find these firing pins at your local gun shop if you screw it up.
