This is same material I used 4 years ago for my shotgun loading blocks. The current layout for shotshell blocks has the holes much closer together so materials are used more efficiently, and the blocks can be shipped in the usps flat rate priority...

These are made from exterior mdf sprayed and buffed with a sanding sealer. These also have internal steps to accommodate different rim sizes.

I have a pretty good sized stash of "purish" lead, but noit sure it's really pure enough for muzzle loader bullets (big solder donuts from cast iron water pipe, lead pipe with soldered ends that are probably some tin, etc), I also have a coffee can...

The detachable magazine ones are pure abominations. As to obscure calibers, I see 20 in .300 Savage for every other caliber out there, and that isn't obscure, lots of ammo and load data for it and it works well with cast in my experience. My...

I need to see if it's playing around here. I've always been fascinated by the bombing campaigns over Europe in WWII. Amazing courage those guys had. If you ever get a chance to go to the 8th Air Force museum in Savannah, Georgia, it's definitely...

I just brought home the first of our CNC cut loading blocks. It's a prototype so some adjustments may occur, but that's the reason for the test run. Depending on how this goes I'm thinking of offering these blocks for sale as a vendor after I find...

Got my .354 sizer today along with my 44 spcl brass so time to make up some rounds for the 44 and the 380. I also started my testing on a new loading block I'm cutting on our CNC router. Will be testing this block and tweeking the final...

Someone had a thread about one of the Squires Bingham rifles a while back. One of the problems with that short neck is you have real difficulty getting bullet seated to chamber without going below the case neck with the bullet base. I have also...

I have several 99s. They are so far ahead of the tube fed, low pressure things that I hardly consider them lever guns in the traditional sense. Sorry of that comes off as snobbish as I own a few '94 Winchesters and a couple of waffle top Marlins...

How big a barrel channel is in that forearm? At first glance, I figured it was for a break open single barrel shotgun, but now it looks like it was something someone made for a target rifle of some sort. Looks nice.

You can always get a Ruger Blackhawk in .30 Carbine if you want a revolver. I agree with your assessment, it's an under rated cartridge.

Thanks very much for posting this, I wouldn't have guessed a .30-30 case would last that long. Kind of makes me wonder how much longer it would last with neck sizing, lighter loads and occasional annealing.

I use to carry a Smith 442 when I worked nights at a local gun shop. Always loaded it with Gold Dots. Was nice to be able to take my pick of carry for the evening from the display case and ammo from the shelf. So over the years I've had the option...

That's a good bullet, haven't shot it in my 340, but mine does like the 311466, slightly lighter weight version of this same bullet. I bet you can get some good groups with it using Unique or 4198.

Those of you using the Lee 113 grain soup can, have you tried them without the gas checks at these low velocities? Been thinking of a squirrel load for my Savage 219, and I'd prefer to keep it as cheap and simple as possible. Will likely use 700X...

My 340 isn't what I'd call a tack driver with anything, but is pretty good with everything. All I've ever shot in it is cast. They have been sneered at for being cheapies for years, but they were quite an innovative design when they came out. ...

These are better than the old Weaver side mounts for the 340, though they don't look traditional on them. I have one of these on my .30-30. https://www.amazon.com/Sun-Optics-USA-Hornet-Savage/dp/B003O9YGJU
