There were a few things that BW-36 was the best grouping powder I used including a Remington 722 in .300 Savage. If it was still available, it would likely be my go-to powder for medium size cases.

"I think a 311041 is really only a hunting boolit with a very soft alloy." Worked fine for me a couple of times. Cast reasonably soft, but still pushed to 1800 FPS or so. Not sure where you're getting that idea, it's quite a good hunting bullet.

These are the ones that work best in my 50's. The MP group buy mold for the S&W utilized for my Swede roller, along with the Lyman Great Plains.

My Dad had decades of American Rifleman bound and saved when he was still in S.C., not sure if they made the move west with him, and I didn't see them when we moved him and mom into assisted living a few years ago. Maybe one of my brothers got...

The Herrington show is one of my favorites. Haven't been to the Topeka one in a while, but used to fairly often. Thanks for the tip about Herrington, I hadn't heard about it. It's pretty much the same show as the one in Abilene, most of the...

I am intrigued by this. I have a Stevens 44 1/2 I believe is chambered in .25 rimfire. The barrel has been relined, and I think whoever had it planned to do a centerfire conversion, but not sure if done or not. I'd love a source of .25 rimfire.

I have a Contender rifle chambered in it. It was too good a deal to pass up, but it is too destructive on edible game in my experience (I'd say the same thing about the .22 WMR). I think I'm gonna have the barrel rechambered to .17 Hornet...

If for any reason this deal falls through, I'd like to be second. Long shot, I know.

This is very interesting to me. We're allowed to use what we want, they even legalized .22 Centerfires a few years ago. But if I was restricted to straight walled, I'd have no problem using a .45-70 or .38-55.

My oldest son's first deer rifle is a Model 7 Remington youth model in .260. Should be the perfect white tail round and it worked well with jacketed bullets, but the rifle was never as accurate as I thought it should be. Haven't shot it in several...

I'm keen on having one in .222 and one in .244, bu a .280 would be close to that. Of all the times someone has tried to "improve" the .30-06, the .280 is the one that comes the closest to actually doing it. A 721 in .280 would be a good one to...

Just for what it's worth, the .300 Savage works well with cast bullets too. My 99 EG in .300 shot the 311041 well when I used it to deer hunt a few years ago, the short neck problems everybody talks about seem more academic than real.

"Redding 228 win mag set, pliers marks on rings $20" Is this a typo? Should it read .338 Win mag?

Went today and there's quite a bit of reloading components for a show that small, including primers and I didn't see any real price gouging going on. One guy selling primers for $45 a thousand, had a lot. If you're local to it, it's a nice...

Yep. It works just fine. The .45 ACP isn't a big case, small primers work fine.
