Thanks Wolfer. That's the nice thing about the roller....... no need to be fast, just need the first shot to be dead on. I really like the creativeness on your approach to the scope base. Most all my rifles are all optically enhanced too, my older...

¥ certain hunter from the Orofino, Idahd, ' vicinity is going to be a mite more careful what he's shooting at from now on. Out hunting elk, he suddenly grabbed his rifle and fired away. It turned out that he'd blasted a farmer's horse out from...

I PC coat then check and size and then PC coat and size one more time at .225 for my AR15 with both my 55gr BATOR and my 69gr MiHec mold bullets. I use 24gr of IMR4831 and 20.5gr of IMR 4895 for the 69gr bullet and 21gr of Hodgdon 4895 for the 55gr...

Yup. New gun or total replace. Maybe better off with a total refund and move on. How exciting, bet you can't wait to see how they will handle the next "FIX" you might have down the road. lol

Yes, I think they do have a nice carbine there. Now if they only would make one chambered in 45 Colt I'd be getting one.

The .358 is a good one, have used it with cast on deer myself, but you don't really need bullets that big to deer hunt effectively. The .30s and .32 I've used worked great. Was a little apprehensive about one this small, but if I haven't tagged...

It's a good bullet for what I've done with it. I'd be curious to see how it works on game, I kind of figured it was too light, but after seeing how well this bulle that was only 30 grains heavier penetrated, the soup can might work fine.

PPU brass is available and reasonable. Get a set of dies and it reloads just like any thing else. It's better than the .30-30 in that it can use spritzer type bullets if you like. Don't let the nay sayers tell you wrong, it's as easy to have ammo...

The fawns are weaned now and still have a couple of months of relatively mild weather and good food sources. They'll be OK if orphaned now. That said, nothing wrong with your decision at all. I like to watch deer from my stand and watch a lot...

I like Avogunner's suggestion to mark the brass for specific rifles/pistols. I may start doing that for the rifles I have multiples of to segregate the brass for each I have one Lee Enfield with a very sloppy chamber that requires necksized brass...

This was 30 grains of IMR 3031. I got the data from the RCBS cast bullet manual for their 168 grain bullet. According to their data, should be a little over 1900 FPS. I've been shooting a lot of the soup cans through this rifle for practice. I...

For the Hornet, NOE makes a 45 grain WFN I have had great success with using two grains of Bullseye. The Lee 113 grain soup can works well in .30-30.

It does have a generous throat, that bullet base is still in the case neck and it feeds through the magazine slick as glass. That is the alloy I use, I think I would slow it down a bit if I do it again, but maybe not. This wasn't the best shot...

Could have worked different if the range were farther, the shot was better, etc., but killed quickly which is the important thing. I never found the gas check.

The Type 99s are chambered in 7.7x58 (basically .31 caliber like an Lee-Enfield or Mosin-Nagant) and is comparable to 30-06 or 308Win in effectiveness. For reloading, its easier to load for than the Type 38s as you can use trimmed down and reformed...
