It looks like it except id expect it to be between all the chambers and not in such orderly rows. I will venture them to be machining marks. One with a lathe could probably cut a groove to remove it easily. I believe some single sixes came with...

I got a pair of Mickey Mouse boots for 5 bucks at a yardsale a few years ago. Those things are amazing warm. The cold temps here don't get much below 20 normally. Only issue I've found is the air release knob is right in the way when setting...

Sorry you had this disappointment. Sounds like the plunger on the bottom of the hammer was binding. Likely just debris in the hole. It's a common issue for Rugers and solved by cleaning out the hole well and polishing with some fine sandpaper. ...

Thats a new one on me. But I traded most of my older RCBS dies off when I got my first Dillon. The older dies had a more square mouth, where the newer ones had more radius, making it easier to load on a progressive press.

I probably would not smelt those new weights. I would put those nice clean new weights straight into my casting pot and just skim out the 4 clips per pound as they floated to the top. Cast_Outlaw, you have a sweet deal going! I would collect...

Sounds about like how mine turned out. Except I didn't reduce the JPW down and re-add mineral spirits. I just melted JPW and LLA together and poured it into bottles. Aside from melting the bottles it worked well enough. Mine got hard in the...

I flux my pot when starting or adding, regardless of how clean my lead is. There has been times I didn't flux when adding a few ingots, but I guess those ingots weren't super clean as I started having inclusions.

I have not had to deal with Dillon since Mike died but their CS was the best in the business at one time. Oh sure, there were others just as good. RCBS and Leopold come to mind. Maybe Dillon's deal does have something to do with Ebay sellers? But,...

I was thinking about how long 2 barrels of sawdust would last me. But if it was free or very cheap and I had the space to store it I would stock up too. I use a hand full, about a coffee cup full, when I'm smelting. I'll flux up to 3 times,...

I've never sifted for lead at our outdoor range. There was always enough exposed lead to just pick up. Especially after a series of rainy weather. Several 5 gallon buckets and a 2 wheel dolly are a big help. I have sifted the trap at the indoor...

This is a pretty good place to start at. You might even be ok with less linotype. Lino is getting harder and harder to find. I would stretch it as far as possible.

Soft lead or even wheel weights sell here in the swapping and selling section usually for $1 a pound. Linotype usually goes for more, around $2 a pound. Plus shipping. This is in ingot form. I would try to buy unmelted scrap for less than that. I...

Thats a harder alloy than I usually cast with but a higher pot temp might help. You said you used the same mold recently but was it clean and oil free? Low temps or contaminated mold are the only things that come to mind. And occasionally you...
