I come across them both here and there but not frequently enough to save them. I usually scrap them. If you want me to start saving them for you I will. Whatever the cost of brass is at the scrapyard plus postage and they are yours. PM me if this...

I would buy all of both that I could afford if the price was reasonable. Depending on the intended use you can mix them anywhere from 1 to 1 up to 10 to 1. Linotype is becoming a thing of the past and lead of any kind is getting harder to find at...

I've never melted a powder coated bullet that I know about. But, like the others, it sounds a little mild compared to a 400# pot of dirty wheel weights! I live on a large lot, on the very edge of town, so smoke is not a big deal where I am at.

Higher BTU would be better. That looks like a good fish cooker but maybe a little light for a pot of lead.

Technically the dirt/dust will not be good for your bore. In reality, I doubt there is really enough to hurt. I probably would put them in the next pot of melting lead.

I don't think the Ax is Redneck, but rather cool! I do have some Redneck tendencies, like the one that Roger posted about with brass on the kitchen counters.

Old primers are collectable but the problem is that its such a small community. There are probably more reloaders that would like to have those for display in their mancaves than there are collectors. You do have a nice collection there!

I'm not seeing it either. Those death numbers seem kind of excessive to me. The meth and crack heads are pretty easy to spot and we do have a few of those. We probably more dope smokers than I realize but they seem to be more like the social...

I have a Lyman 450 and a Star and I've used the RCBS. The Lyman and RCBS can use the same dies and top punches but the Star dies are different, and more expensive. You can find them on EBay sometimes for a fair price. The linkage on the RCBS looks...

Good Luck with this. I got my first one a few years ago. Now I have several and I'm actively looking for at least 2 more. They really do cast great. I don't own any of the high end custom molds so I can't compare them.

I bet those alloys cast beautiful bullets but they sound awfully hard for my uses. I prefer something in the 96-2-2 or even 94-3-3 range. I get great looking and performing pistol bullets from straight wheel weights at something like 96-2.5-0.5.

It sounds like a productive days work. Your reward of a shiney pile of ingots is worth it! Your idea of sifting smaller loads is a good idea. Also try to find more buckets and load them lighter. A full bucket is really heavy to carry and load....

I sort wheel weights by eye and use dykes on the questionable ones. I use the swimming pool acid on odd chunks. Thankfully, wheel weights still are mostly lead around, although I'm seeing more stick ons.

There have been mixed reports of members selling them as scrap copper. It seems like some places will buy them while others won't. Its worth a try.

I guess nothing is sacred? I've found both zinc and brass in addition to lead. The alloy is all over the place too, on the lead ones. I test each one with acid and dump them in with my clip on wheel weight when I smelt.
