Don't forget about RCBS customer service. When I got my scale I sent it to RCBS for inspection. So if you get a deal on a used RCBS scale that's damaged or missing parts it might still be a great deal.

I was at a local cartridge collector show today and a guy walked up to me with a 25-20 hand tool... I said "ah, a 25-20" and before I could get it out he barked... "NO, that's a 25-20 SS" (single-shot). I was turned-off by his negative attitude so I...

The lee perfect powder measure does well for me. I use an RCBS 505 that I got used. I think that's a good way to go. I agree, A set of Lee dippers will get you going well enough. I still use them.

Thanks for the suggestions. Some of them are rifle hollow points. I thought of tumbling them, but I'm afraid grit will get clogged in the hp cavity if I tumble them in media.

I have several hundred jacketed bullets that are older and have some very mild corrosion on them. They are starting to get darker, the lead tips are starting to turn white, and they don't feel slick anymore. I don't want to load and shoot them...

I still sort by hand and probably always will. My pot/burner set-up will easily melt Zinc if the weights are in the bottom of the pot. But, everyone has a method that works for them and thats just mine. I've also sorted enough weights that I just...

A hot plate should melt smaller amounts of lead but there are better methods. Like Kevin C said, I've accidentally melted ingots while pre-heating them for casting. But, you are going to be restricted by weight limits. If finances allow, I...

I have a 30-30 sizing die body if you want to experiment on it. It's Lyman, and it leaves a mark on the shoulder at the vent hole. It still sizes and chambers but I replaced it anyways. No guts in it, just the body. PM me if you want it and...

I had one a while. It would fire out of battery. They have a long tapered nose on the front of the bolt. Get a little crud in that tapered area and it'll fail to close all the way. If it's enough crud, but not too much, it'll fire out of...

I can tell a difference in feel from changing the mounts I have that are .070 difference. I know changing ring height won't matter for accuracy. I don't care about target accuracy anyways. Anything less than 2" at 100 is fine for my purposes,...

Shimming the bases would not raise them the same height as going to the next highest rings. A shim might be .010 where as the difference in the rings I'm using is .080. The bases I changed was .070 different. If I can get that .060 I will.

Using medium rings won't work as they raise the scope too much for comfort. I don't understand how raising the scope doesn't bother others. It kicks my cheek if the comb is too low. This rifle was made with no irons and a raised comb, so I'm...
