I just got an email on this one and I had *just* read a post of a member here who had this exact problem. Brand new GPR and the breechplug blew out! Was searching for his post but I think Lyman was going to give him a new rifle.. Art

You nailed it, mold too cold -- for $10 at Walgreens you can buy a single burner electric hot plate and it will last for years. I preheat all my molds this way and it works great. Also --- what Slim1836 said, don't tap the spruce plate, tap the...

Miha I would pay the extra for UPS even for one of your molds. Didn't even know DHL was still in business here and they were the worst. Whatever the cost I'll gladly pay it for one of your molds, shipping is screwing us all and there's not a...

Forget the commercial lubes, I just posted on another thread. For years I used rooster red, Thompson blue angel, etc until I found lsstuff.com lubes. Every one has worked great and carnuba red is all I use in big bore rifles now. If you're...

Dude I changed from Rooster red zambini to LSLubes carnuba red years ago and I've never looked back. Quality people and a great product. I've even tried their liquid alox (I hate alox, way too messy) and if works great also. Their red is all I use...

Yeah you aren't kidding, those barrels have a purpose but not on these calibers. The Bartlien going on my 33 Nosler is going to be 26" and shoot, maybe 28" or 30" would be better, just don't want that much of an imbalance in the gun M-96. ...

M-96 is dead on about this one even though I own a JM Marlin in 450 Marlin. Here's some history. The 450 Marlin was designed and marketed as "everything the 45-70 wanted to be and couldn't" --- not true. 1. Anything 450 Marlin can do, so can...

Man you boys must either think I'm brave, tough, or very, very stupid! The 33 has a very nice Shrewd custom brake going on it, wouldn't have planned otherwise! I've got several 338's, off top of my head one Ruger #1 and one tang safety M77 and...

I would and I will as soon as my chronograph shows it to be true, remember, I'm using Nosler words and not mine as referenced by post #8 above. I really haven't meant to be a jerk and get all butt hurt over this post but.....<sigh> I have been...

Thanks for the responses guys, I will certainly go to Mauser Central and try that. After getting excited, ordering two stocks from Richards I got a call back and they told me that they did stocks for '96's and '98's but the call for Mex Mausers was...

Found this old thread as I recently dug out three 1910 90% completed barreled actions I had squirreled away 20 years ago -- long story. They were barreled by a guy named Brian Sipe if I remember correctly, used to be known as "The Montana Rifleman"...

According to Nosler published data --- it DOES. Don't know why some of you are so apprehensive about this cartridge. I have a ton of 338's 458's etc and none are too bad to shoot, however, I've got a Ruger Frontier 300WSM (6-7lbs) that is the...

Very knowledgeable. An easy way to tell how vintage ammo is is the child warning -- that did not come about until 1962. I believe you to be correct on the other boxes also. I've collected 22 boxes almost my whole life, dad got me started. Haven't...
