I like to keep things simple. WHY? It likely has more value as poor lip balm than excellent lube. Sell the junk and buy 3-4 times of what you know works.

Lloyd, My two .308’s shoot the Sierra 165 GameKing’s sub MOA. I bought 500 of the same lot number which for me is a lifetime supply. I am a KISS person. It really is more bullet than I need for Michigan deer but it works. As to your...

No way the barrel is .227+. It will not shoot jacketed bullets at all if it is. Use another micrometer or mic a jacketed bullet to verify the readings. If it really is a .227 barrel, contact CZ and they should replace it at no...

I love my G22's. Even bought a Lonewolf 9mm conversion and 9mm mags so I can shoot two calibers with one gun. Mine is boringly reliable which is what I want in a SD gun. I shoot tighter groups with the Kimbers, but that level of precision is...

For handguns it is a waste of time for the vast majority of guns, shooters, and applications. I used to do it until I started shooting a lot. If I still shot Bullseye, and had the skill I had 40 years ago, I would sort for the 50 yard stages and...

Larry Gibson gave you the best insight IMHO. BTW, starting with a 5.56 in cast is not a good place to be, and you can look forward to an immense level of frustration. I would suggest NOT even trying unless you are more of an experimenter and...

Agree. It is not as fast as a good 6 cavity mold but it allows you to cast for longer periods of time. I have nerve damage and cannot work with heavy molds for very long anymore. You want a consistent and very clean alloy so that is what I...

Lots of good choices above. My favorites are the Anschutz repeater my dad gave me over 55 years ago (still shoots less than 1.5 MOA with junk bulk ammo), a Winchester M52 sporter and the 10/22. If I was buying one now, it would be the CZ.

This morning I was reading a long thread on the .350 by Oldfeller on this site. He was working with an AR. Worth reading if you plan on loading the .350. There were (are?) a few issues with .350 cases that sounded concerning. It is nice to...

This has been an interesting read.... A lot of work and experimentation that will help others on a similar quest. I would never make the journey as I have so little patience and talent yet I can appreciate those qualities in others.

If you buy the brass directly from Starline, they ship it for free. The prices for 44 Mag brass are $110/500 cases and $191/1000. So if you buy 1000 cases, it's a little more than 19 cents per case (for new stuff).

I load cast reduced loads for my 338 Win Mag (Model 70). I use a 250 design offered by BRP (no longer in business). I shoot this over 16 grains of Red Dot/Promo (no filler). It gets 1.5 to 2 inches at 100 yards. At 1,500 fps, there's little...

I have heard this proposed before, but I am not sure of it. If you do one thing before another isn't that time? I would think that would apply to God as well. Of course I don't understand how eternity past exists and I suppose the idea that...

Why would a thick neck blow up the gun? If the bolt closes without forcing it, I would think it should be OK. Glad you are safe.

Sold a really nice K-38 and Colt Target .38 when I got into semi-autos. A few years ago got back into revolvers....got tired of chasing brass. Really missed that gun. Started looking for replacements and got sticker shock. What a ******* I was.

I plan on loading .40 S&W, and 5.56 on a 550 The .40 will load a mix of lead and jacketed bullets. The 5.56 will be jacketed. I will need to purchase two powder measures as I prefer using a true quick change. The Lee looks like an...
