dverna replied to a thread blackout rambling in Factory Rifles
Lloyd, Even if you find someone with an "answer", will it be correct and how much data supports it? As you said, in your experience over many hunts the .30 carbine worked but was marginal at times. One option is to take one of your .30 cal...

So true...emotion beats logic many times. LOL But logic still has me preferring the Marlin. To me the 1894 just feels right, I shoot them well but I have never shot the Henry and it might be better yet...but I cannot justify adding one to the...

For hunting, it is convienient to not having to cycle the action to empty it. For plinking, I prefer the loading gate. As a hillbilly assault rifle, it is nice to be able to top up the magazine using a loading gate.

dverna replied to a thread best place to buy.... in Cast Boolits
You can forget that kind of pricing. But if you are patient you can find them for about $25/1000 delivered if you buy in bulk. I think my last order was for Winchester SP and LR over a year ago and they were $22/1000 at Cabela's and I bought...

At that price I would buy it. The reports I heard early on is that plastic bits and pieces tended to break. Not sure if the newer ones or replacement parts have addressed the problems they had but others loved them. And if there are parts that...

By the time I could afford a Clark I was too old and shaky to make it run like it can. Wish you luck with the Les Baer. Great gun

I had the same rifle and it would group (10 shots) about 1 1/2" with cast bullets at 30 yards. I bought it for CAS and decided to sell it as .38 was more competitive. Quite a few reports of poor accuracy in the .44 Marlin so it may take a bit...

I did not know where to post this so Mods should move it as appropriate. For those looking for cheap plinking bullets for their AR's, and struggling with .22 cal cast, Midsouth has bulk bullets on sale. I priced out 6000 Hornady 55 gr FMJ's and...

60-90 shots from two CO2 cartridges. That will be an expensive way to have an hour of fun. But cheaper than owning an M16 or Tommy gun.
