Just to be fair kmw, Lloyd did state he has owned both a pro1000 and a loadmaster so he has a basis for his opinion. Maybe he is not as good at mechanical things as you are, or maybe his expectations are higher, or maybe he has experience with...

I tend to chuckle when the coating guys talk about how fast and easy coatings are. If you still need to size, NOTHING beats a Star. I "lost" my first one in a divorce...My ex's new husband had a yard sale and likely got $5 for it...he is an idiot....

One near me has 25% off. We spent $500 on Sunday. Some great values. Even their alcohol is discounted.

Bingo. If you must do any operation except for case cleaning off the press, the press is defective or not adjusted properly. Having owned 10 progressive presses, only one was a RCBS Green Machine. But I have never owned a Lee or...

Most of the pistol shooters I see will not have that problem LOL. When I build mine, I will use sand as the medium. I literally have tons of sand so I will dribble more into the top as the level goes down. I am fortunate in that I have a...

This post reveals the difference between a true Yooper and the slightly less demented Michiganders, of which I am one. If it is cold enough to have snow I do not shoot enough to justify reclaiming the lead. LOL Back to the OP. If you have a...

Caliber conversion costs are inconsequential in your case. Unless you plan on loading for 10 different calibers, ignore that disadvantage to the 650. I have owned all the Dillon machines. Two 1050's, a 650, two 550's and two SDB. I also had a...

Good point Lloyd on the magazine issue. This carbine is going to be a winner in whatever calibers they put out. For me, the 9mm makes the most sense as it will be a fun plinker gun and if the bolt is not to hard to pull back, a SD gun for the lady.

Alloy will have an impact due to differing shrink rates. Pure lead should be the most forgiving. Linotype the least.

Contender nailed it. Too many times, we recommend guns based on our experience and training. I was such a fool. I doubt more than 1 person in 200 shoots as much as I do. Many of us here are in the same boat. We can shoot anything well as we...

If you do this, some preliminary work may be needed as I believe there is a minor effect from a .1 gr difference in powder charge that will be affected by other variables. But that needs to be verified. For example, what is the effect of brass? ...

You can speed up your testing by using a cooler to store your ammunition and a thermometer to check the temperature in the cooler. Freeze the first few batches. They will be your coldest samples. Add more ammunition after each string and wait...

Like others pointed out, it could have turned out worse. It does cause me to wonder how those ovens regulate heat. It had to get over 600 degrees to melt bullets.
