I wouldn't shoot them without any lube as you may end up with some nasty leading but you should be able to tumble lube them with the Lee lube. The Swadge-o-matic makes a not so nice cast boolit look really good and makes a real nice flat even base...

Tac is THE powder for my 350 Rem mag. I shoot a sierra 225gr gameking at 2800fps in 5/8" groups. With 4895 I can only get 2650fps and that is with a case so full of 4895 the bullets tend push out of the case although accuracy is good. Tac is more...

I use 50BMG spent primers as 3/4 jackets for an 85gr 32 cal swc for use in a couple of 7.62 x 25 pistols. I use a lyman 65gr 257 boolit as the core.

If it's soft lead, all that matters is that it is the right weight and it will fit in the half jacket. I have even used a smaller dia cast boolit that has been lubed to make a bigger dia gas checked or plain base boolit. I also use mine for...

I did two Lee 38-55 double cavity molds with the bevel base, I used a wood dowel split with a hacksaw blade and 60 grit sandpaper to start then real fine grit to finish it up, worked great. I did all this with a Chinese drill press.

+1 what light man said. Use the RCBS for the 100 per year thing. Its not worth the effort to change out the die and the punch and adjust the punch depth for 100 boolits. I bought a half dozen blank dies from Lathesmith (3/16 hole IIRC) for real...

I'm in the same boat as Mt Gianni. I have a TC and a Rem 700 V in 223 but no 300 blackout or AR. As you have to either hand chamber (TC) or hand load the magazine of the bolt gun and not simply stuff a mag in the bottom, It would be hard not to...

I bought a universal 22lr scope base and drilled it to match two of the rear sight screws and used a set of high ring 22 slide on rings so no drilling on the rifle. Mine shoots about 1 1/4" at 85yds using the lyman 65gr cast (73grs lubed and...

+1 for everything Lloyd has said. I normally don't buy the "new fad" because I want something a bit different. My go to hunting rifle is a pre 64 Win in 300 H&H. If I want to be a little more different, I will use my 350 Rem mag or maybe my 358...

My lyman AA only has 4 holes which to me is just right. #1 sizer and manually put a primer in the punch on the up stroke and prime on the down. #2 is the expander and powder through die with a Lee powder spitter on top. 3# is bullet seater. #4 is...

How you practice can save you a bunch of ammo. You need to be able to see your mistakes in trigger control. Load one loaded round and the rest empty. Close the cyl and start "firing" until you find the loaded chamber. This will show you very quickly...

What are the thoughts on this Carbine and has any one here tried cast boolits in them? I have read reviews on line and for the most part they are good. The thing is I wanted input from you guys, as I have more confidence of the members here.

I only deprime separately for rifle and I use a primer pocket reamer as well. With pistol I can't shoot well enough to tell any accuracy difference.

For general plinking, paper and steel clanging, out to a hundred yards, I have a single cavity Lyman 457191 292gr mold. I love this boolit and it shoots great at a hundred. I load it with 13gr of Unique and if my memory serves me right it's running...

You always use the little notch. You set the distance by adjusting the elevator under the rear sight. That can only be determined by shooting at a target set up at about 25 yards to start with then move it out further, It's just a mater of...

I use a HF 7x14 minilathe for this. Just chuck the boolit then use a center drill. I do this before sizing and lubing the boolit. It works very well.
