midnight replied to a thread Walnut Hill dies in Swaging
Looks like Richard is coming out with a new press. It looks similar to Dave's CSP-1 but the ram is threaded 7/8-14. Too bad I got 3 Walnut Hills, a CSP-1 & a CSP-2 & a Mity-Mite plus his Hydraswage. I'm still interested as soon as he prices them. ...

I tried one cheap tool idea. I bought the little RCBS cutter with 10-32 threads that goes on their case prep machine & chucked it in a cordless drill. Didn't work well at all so I got Wilson's 50 BMG case trimmer & their 50 BMG primer pocket reamer....

That stock looks typical of what Herters was selling in the late 60's. I have one I rechambered to 30-338. I believe it has the most painful recoil of all I own & I shoot a 50 BMG. The floorplate flies open on each shot. Don't shoot it much any...

midnight replied to a thread Core bonding in Swaging
I was thinking that since Corbin's flux is an acid, that rinsing in an alkaline solution like baking soda would be the way to go. I can see why using citric acid would make the jacket nice and shiney again and if followed with a thorough rinse would...

Corbin recomends rinsing the bonded cores in a baking soda solution. Rinse well & dry and then seat cores to expand jacketed core & then form point. Bob

midnight replied to a thread Drill accuracy in Swaging
I drill at least .005 undersize, usually more. It pays to have a lot of metric drill sizes to fill in gaps. I get most of my drill bits & reamers at machinery auctions. You can never have too many. I will ream after drilling to get a couple...
