None. When I got it back, it fed just as well as when it was a 30 30. I never had a lever until the 30 30 a couple of years ago and learned you have to work the action with a little "authority".

I have a Rossi, pre-drilled holes. I bought a Marbles and it fits fine. It took all of 15 min to install. Besides, the Marbles is adjustable for windage.

I have shot 145g to 285g bullets with what I consider success. The heavier 240 to 285 will flirt with 2". The 145 is a gallery bullet I use for short range cans. The 2"(sometimes) is as good as I can get but don't have a Marlin. I don't scope levers...

I have a Smith gain twist 32 40 on a 1885 and it does shoot good but I don't know that you need all that for a lever gun. I also have a "94 Winchester rebored by JES from 30 30 to 38 55 and it shoots better than the original. He charges only $225...

I've shot other matches in the past so I agree it's a lot different than testing and such. I asked about wiping because I have seen old SS with wiping rods under the barrel but I assume may take too long under match conditions. I will be a spectator...

I didn't think everything would get worked out on this forum. I have planned to do all the range time I can before I waste anyone's time at a match. might not get it all worked out this year. As I stated, I'm not new to shooting just the use of...

And with a powder measure at the shooting bench, you need only one case.

A stop ring allows you load fixed ammunition with a very nearly breach seated condition. The stop ring prevents the bullet from telescoping into the case when chambering the round and seating the bullet well into the throat/barrel for alignment of...

I will be shooting at Friendship. You have all been helpful. I know things must be tried and I don't plan to shoot for a couple of months(too hot). I'm just looking for a place to start and will be shooting with an old pro but can't bug him all of...

I'm getting geared up to shoot a BPCR match and am quite new to black powder although I've loaded smokeless for over forty years. Should I blow or use a wiping rod? How do I use a wiping rod? How much should I compress my powder?

I resized Starline 38 55 (short) brass to 32 40 in one pass in a full length sizer but I annealed the neck area first. I know a lot of people don't anneal first but when I tried, I would always get a crease in the case. After annealing I lost only...

Get a LEE Universal expander. NOE makes oversize expander plugs that fit the LEE die so that your bullets will not be sized smaller by the case.

If you're going to use stop rings in 8.15x46 or 32-40, why not just go ahead and breach seat the bullet, assuming we're talking single shot rifles. I do use a stop ring in my 03A3 (NOE clone of 308403). I tumble lube to keep the ring intact and much...

Even if you buy new Starline brass, it will probably need trimmed to get all cases the same length for consistent seating, crimp, etc.

A spring might help for a time but when the bolt comes out, it is usually the sign of a bad sear. The old fix was a new bolt but they are getting hard/expensive to find. You may be able to file a little deeper notch in the bolt and /or "sharpen" the...

Does the bolt come out w/o pulling the trigger? One of the drawbacks to this series of rifles is that the sear is the bolt stop. Vigorous working of the bolt will damage or prematurely wear out the sear. First I would check the screw as suggested by...

Couple of Rossi 92's. One newer short rifle in 44 mag and a bit older 45 Colt with 24" full octagon barrel. Sent my Winchester 94 to JES for a 38 55 conversion sorta makes it new.
