    well I got over the mountain today. that .36 mold is mine. it is new never been on handles. it was 29.99. now I have a maxi mold in .36,.45,50 and .54.

    if the bore is .439 I have a mold . also have a set of dies for it they are lee. I will have to look I mite even have 2 boxes of brass it is Bertram.

    I had the forerunner to that rifle. it was the shakri in .45-70. bought it new for $65. it shot every thing 500,405 and 350 gr. bullets. but at 5 lbs. the recoil was brutal. even with the 350 gr. so it went down the road.

    I formed mine out of 06 brass and load 311299 to about 1600fps. it shoots great and kills deer. I was using a 91 mauser, I also have a 09 argentine and a Peruvian. I also have a Peruvian that was converted to 06.

    another cause of the bulge could be the maxi ball moved forward while being carried. if ou are hunting with a maxi ball you have to carry the gun muzzle up at all times. I seen some worked back up to the muzzle. another good habit is after you walk...

    how bad is the bulged spot? is it really blowed out or just a bump. just a bump it is not going to get worse. if it is that week then a rebore will not make it stronger. I have shot bulged barrels with no problems.

    I put many duffle cut 98'sbck together. you can not even tell if they were under the barrel band. first are the Nazi markings stamped out? if so it was a war reparations rifle. I have one that went to Serbia.
