    it can be done but the work involved unless you are doing it your self is very expensive. you bore out your existing chamber press in a sleeve and chamber it to the smaller cartage.

    when I was shooting ppc with my security six. I used the rcbs tc bullet with 3.5gr. red dot. the tc made loading with a speed loader faster.

    back in the 80's I worked for a gov. contractor. they would sign out a file swipe the al. armor plate choke it up it would go right in the trash I would fish them out along with the taps. still using those files and taps today.

    where I am in pa. evert fourth house has a bench and back stop. some are 50 yd. some are 2-300 yds. our farm I have a 50 and 100 yard. but for hand gun or quick testing I shoot right off the back porch. thn there are private clubs every where.

    the side holes for a receiver sight were not drilled till 1950's. also to put the 71 butplate on the end of the stock would have to been sanded flat.

    after dodging idiots on cellphones and the break checks we got one for my truck and the wife's truck. also works good for the fools that run up beside you and try to cut over when the lane ends. the stepsons company put them in all their trucks....

    you are plug over thinking this simple repair. just drill the hole out to the next larger size plug it with a loc-tight. then redrill to the right location. I have done this many times. never had one fail. do use fine threads

    in the 60's I was in the boy scouts. we would go camping once a month. go out Friday evening come back sunday. clean out a spot in the snow put up the tent pack snow back around the tent. after the first trip we learned how to stay warm.
