    don't use an oil base to clean. use water or a water base water dissolves b-p fouling . oil makes it lump and get hard.

    the handle length should be the length from your finger tip to your nose with your arw straight out to the side. for splitting I use a splitting maul. the heavy head gives a better split then a axe.

    I have a few of the ones that have a flex able shaft . push in the top of the handle and the 4 fingers open. great for picking up brass and fishing out wrenches and nuts and bolts that drop into tight places.
