Sounds good , thank you both for input. I am going to order the mold and go from there. Im not looking for ultimate accura cy or velocity. Just an easy to load setup for goofing off and the occasional coyote or whitetail. The thread on the 690 rb...

I load the dr16 in herters with 7/8 or 1 oz. Of shot, so I keep binches of them. The waa16 requires some "filler". Works well in 2 1/2 cheddites and 7/8, go figgger???? It is stiff with no ridges inside, thought I would try the felt chair pad in...

Kinda like racing, fast is expensive, REALLY fast is outrageously expensive! Getting a quality gun to MOA is not a real big deal, getting 1/2 moa is work and getting under.100 lots of work. I'm no longer into that kind of pain/fun. Hunting rifles...

Anybody loading .600 lee balls in the 16ga DR16 wads? Fixing to order a mold but thought I would seek some insite before hand. Shooting them in a M37,M12,AND M31 all choked mod. The DR16 measures .60 id, and I would load over 2028 or longshot to...

So the 45-70 has .058 wall thickness at the muzzle???? I think my 16ga M12 has thicker muzzle walls than that. (.575-.458)/2= .0585

AlanF, did you have trouble getting the hammer pivot pin out? The one on mine won't budge. My other 2 GPs, you can push it out with a finger! Gotta make a nylon punch I guess. I need to pull the cyl to pin gage it, cant bring the whole thing to...

I would just stop at the first gas station on the drive home. Spend 5 bucks for two bags of ice to avoid the worry and get started on the cooling. Throw them in the cavity and keep it out of the sun.

Thank gou for posting that data ,Longbow. After reading it thru, I consider that is "academic" knowledge for myself. I don't need to try it, mastadons are extinct round here, and the recoil has th be brutal!

True, but they don't cut clean, nice eazy to score holes in 10meter targets I wish there was more interest in 10 meter shooting near me. One school has a team, but nothing much for us grownups. Looking forward to Gard's updates.

Lotech, one reason I mix it with plain lead is cause it's so hard to melt and dross by itself. The additional lead helps in the labor dept! I would not do it to sell, way too much work. Look it up on the alloy spreadsheet in the sticky and you...

It floats, just like dirt on wheelweights. Flux and rake it off. Last bag of 25# had 2 1/2 # of graphite and dirt, i eeighted it after drossing it off. The only thing is it needs tin to cast well. We shoot it gor practice, once its washed it loads...

I am shooting JSB in my 300s presently, but not tuned back up enough to say how good they shoot. They do shoot better than my HN wadcutters at 25+ yards. Thats ehy I got them, shooting spinners at 25 yards with a match rifle,,,, fun fun

I use reclaimed shot a s well. I dod not like the casting qualities straightup so I mix a bag of reclaim with 30 lbs of plain lead and 1 1/4 lb of pewter. Assuming the shot is 5% antimony and most all has arsenic. What I wind up with is roughly...

Wish I had picked one of those 16s up when they were readily available. These scratch the itch for now, a 31-1 was my first find, then finally found a resonable single six, then the sp101 327mag fell into my lap, and the most recent is the little...

Won't think pretty if one gets his fangs into you! They doing any construction nearby, could be pushing them to new territory. Personally, they are one of 2 snakes I kill on sight, they don't have the manners of a rattler, no warning!
