My Dad gave me a LYMAN #358495 2cav about a week after I got out of the Service in 1975. I had aquired an old COLT COMMANDO while on the east coast. He gave me a LYMAN #452460 1cav three months later when I got my first .45 Auto. I got the handles...

I stopped at a jack in the box drive- thru on my way home from ACE Hardware. It was Noon & my Daughter had given me a $1 off coupon for a milkshake. I ordered that and an order of 2 tacos & a Jumbo Jack. I paid for it & was given my food by a middle...

TexasbyGOD, That "unidentified" bullet looks like a LEE .429-200-RF. By weight listed they might be a bit soft. I thing LEE uses a HARDBALL alloy for checking their molds. I finally got around to fixing up some messed up .44WCF ammo I loaded...

I agree on the LYMAN #358156 Cast of #2 or harder. Drive it at max with no worry in an I frame COLT. Use a good crimp on Gas Check. SEAT THOSE GAS CHECKS WITH A GAS CHECK SEATER ON A LYMAN OR RCBS LUBI-SIZER. Getting them on straight & flat, square...

Megasupermagnum, If you load .32 S &W then you will definitely go below 3 grains of powder. I load 1.1 grains of BULLSEYE under a 78gr LYMAN #311252 to shoot in a old S & W Lemon Squeezer Break Top, chambered in .32 Short & Wimpy. I've put about...

I have tried CASTING MACHINE'S 44-240 RNFP Powder Coated. FANTASTIC,FANTASTIC, GREAT BULLETS. If I could afford it I'd give up casting my own and buy his exclusively. They are fine quality at A VERY GOOD PRICE. But I live on a fixed income...

I tip at my regular stops. The Donut Shop, because they usually see me coming and have 2 donuts bagged & ready for me. They know the varieties that I like and I always get fresh warm donuts, with a happy "GOOD MORNING Mr. Schendel" I tip at the...

That's how I started reloading my '93 MAUSER Carbine. I brought home 60+ ISRAELI 8mm cases as a souvenir from a trip to ISRAEL IN 1968. I found a 1893 7X57 carbine in 1975, in a barrel of 1888 "Commision" Mausers. $40.00 at BIG5 Sporting Goods....

Considering the .358 Win is based on the .308 case, I disagree. .358 Win is probably the finest cast bullet round you can chamber for.

I've had a SSM 5 1/2" for 30yrs. It's been a fun little gun. All my kids transitioned to it from a Single-6ix in .22LR and then onto a S&W K- Frame & COLT SAA. I had a .32 RUGER BISLEY for a while. Used it with hot .32WCF level loads. Wish I'd...

I've shot a .44WCF with 6.5grs UNIQUE over a 225gr for over 40yrs without a worry. Case capacity is pretty close between the two. I've also used 6.5grs of UNIQUE behind a 235gr SWC in a .45COLT about just as long. And yeah they are DIRTY LOADS.

I recall a so-called gunsmith who drilled through the barrel of a Sharps to mount sights. First shot, the sight took a trip.

You can get another seating stem & customize it with a Dremel tool or use Johnsons paste wax, several coats on a bullet, drying well between each coat. Take the seating stem out of the die and fill it with 2 part epoxy. Twirl the bullet into the...

I load for a 1886 in .40-82, I guess I'm lucky in that my slightly dark bore mic'ed out at .405 from 3 pure lead slugs. I have the LYMAN 200gr & 240gr and RCBS 260gr. My best accuracy is with the 240gr. I size to .406, lube with WLL BAC. I...

I grew up shooting my DAD'S SWEET WINCHESTER model 53 in .32WCF. We loaded a very hot load of 2400 under the LYMAN#311316GC cast of straight Linotype. It had a LYMAN Peep sight on it. If you unscrewed the Peep from the sight it became a great...
