Meet up in the Springfield Area

Some of us have expressed interest in meeting up here in the Springfield Area.

Anyway, this is going to be an open invitation. You of course don't have to live in Springfield. We'll meet at a restaurant or something just to say hello. Maybe someday if the stars align we can do a shoot kind of like other groups have done, but for now I just think it would be enjoyable to meet some CBers.

ozarkhillbilly49 was planning to come up from the Bentonville area and see about helping me out with a progressive press priming issue, and I thought we could schedule the two events concurrently to help justify the trip for him.

So far we have ebner_glocken (Justin), ozarkhillbilly49 (Travis), nekshot (Jay), and myself (Andrew) who have expressed interest in meeting up in person. Anyone else interested, just pipe up; it's an open invitation.

My work schedule is basically 8-5 M-F so weekends work well for me, with Sunday mornings occupied. Travis has said he could do mornings but afternoons on Saturday or Sunday would work better for him (night worker maybe?).

Who else is interested and what times would work for you?

P.S. ioon44, if you decide to come I wouldn't mind seeing some of those barrels that have been worn down from P.C. Would be a curiosity and probably make for some interesting conversation.

Can't say I can get up there on w/e in next month to so, trying to get new home. I'm actually working in Springfield the week of the 13th.

dilly, one thought on members meeting would be to meet at the Billings Bench Club on July 18 for the NRA Action Pistol match which starts at 9:00 AM. I try to shoot this match each month. There would be plenty of time to visit.
One of the barrels that showed abrasion is the one I shoot the Action Pistol matches with.
  5. dilly
I've never done any shooting matches or been to that range.

How does that work? You don't have to be a member of the club to go to the matches that are hosted there?

Also, what would the match be like? Is there somewhere I can read specifically about NRA Action Pistol matches?
  6. ioon44
The NRA Action Pistol matches are open to the public and they shoot 3 different 48 round courses.

The web site is . You can shoot any straight wall pistol from .22 rim fire to .45 ACP.

Feel free to P.M. me if you want talk on the phone.

I've been a member there for quite a number of years. We may have met already.

Don't think we have met, I am not a member( long drive) just have close friends who are. I recognized that you have made some of your video's there.

Would like to meet you guys, but the 18th is out for me. My wife's family gathering/camping trip starts that weekend. Due to my wife's illness, we will not be camping, but will be driving to Branson to meet up with them on days she is up to it.

This sounds interesting but unfortunately we have company coming in for the weekend from Texas.I was also a member of the Billings Benchrest club for many years. Finally let my membership go after moving to Ozark County. Just to many miles to drive to shoot when i have my own range in my yard here at home........Terry
