I'm about to order a push through sizer die to size and check my 6.5 CM boolits. I've been hearing that lots of people are having problems getting this one to balance.

As best I can determine, .268 seems to be the diameter I need to go with. I'm gonna try my best to get this thing to work for me.

If I can't get it to cooperate, I'll have a mold to sell come spring.Or not. I might just chuck it in the brush pile behind the pistol target board.

JIm, I shoot .269 in my Carcano. If you find .268 is not enough for your requirements it is not difficult to hone a thou or two out of a die.

My experience with the CM is it is stable but the bottom wobbles. I can get an honest 2 MOA or better out of my Carcano at 100m/110y. If the CM was stable it would be sideways long before then.

Well, I'm gonna give it a try. If I find/think .268 ain't big enough, I can always lap it out a coupla' Ks.
The mold is dropping them at .274 right now. They swell the neck so badly, most of them I can't chamber.
Heck, if I can just get it to shoot at a little over Mach I with a pistol powder, I'll be happy. I ain't lookin' to run these things at warp 9. I just wanna shoot my rifle without havin' to buy FLGCs.

Thanks, Jeff. You're a good guy.

Buckshot can make you a push-through sizer like the Lee ones that will fit in your reloading press, but you'll have to pan-lube or lube by hand.

The diameter is way out of spec.............It should drop between 0.2685 and 0.269". Lee has that disclaimer of -0.000" to +0.003" when they cut molds. The only cut to spec molds out there are the original GB ran by Oldfeller. With that out of spec body, the nose might be that much larger also. You will have to try it in your rifle to find out. The original GB as cast boolit will seat to the base of the neck and chamber snugly in all the rifles i've tried it in...... and thats quite a few.

I've gotten a few to seat and chamber. Most did not. That's why I need a .268 sizer die. These dang things are fat as a tick!

If somebody needs a double cavity mold dropping a .272" 172 gr cruise missile let me know. I've cast about 100 so far and they're just too fat for the Swede. The nose is .268". I'm tired of messing with it. Would be real good in a 6.5 Arisaka or Carcano that needs a fat boolit.

The cruise missiles I purchased from Gardner's Cache are .268". They must've been from an early single cavity mold. They shoot darn nice with 13.2 grs 2400 at 50 yds.

...............Heck, wth those CM's you guys are talking about dropping at .272"+, you could sell'em to be used for paper patching use in the .270 Winchester :-)

Be patient. You might get one at no cost.[smilie=b:

Now THAT's funny. "Tertle" currently has my CM mould and sent me a very proud photo the other even of a pile of boolits. My reply was "nice fishing sinkers". You should have seen the email I got back!!!

That sort of reminds me of a few good 'ol boys from down in Hawkins County TN that used to tell me stories about how they would go rifle fishing with a 30-06. They said that there was a legal season for it down that way.

Fat nose on the CM can be solved by nose first into a .258 sizer, followed by same for finishing in a .264 sizer up to first drive band. works for me, but being retired, time doesn't matter.

He sure can! Buckshot made me a .2683" lyman type sizer die and a top punch for my cruise missile project. It works perfectly!
