.577 NE 3" - Help !!

Hallo Guys,
I need to reload this cartridge. Wich bullet size should I use (.580/ .585....)? Who produce bullet moulds for this caliber ?
If any of you had already reloaded .577 NE, I woul be grateful to receive some data .
For either smokless and blackpowder. (Loads, wads type and diameter, bullets...etc..).

Any help would be very welcomed....

The rifle is a new rifle, nitro proof barrel. But I like to shot BP loads in my Sharps and I would do the same with the .577 NE.

I suggest you get a copy of Greame Wrights Loading for the British Double rifle.

For a cast bullet load I suggest you look at moulds from Cast bullet Engineering. They are in in Australia and have a good selection of moulds for this cartridge http://www.castbulletengineering.com/page0051.html Check update 13.

I thought I had a good source of information for you but it turns out the information is for a .577 2 3/4 NE. Here is a link http://www.hotkey.net.au/~orrs/577LightNitro.htm It makes some interesting reading.

I can't help you with 3 inch data as my rifle is a 2 3/4 inch.

I suggest you visit http://www.nitroexpress.com/ and check in there for help. You will find some folks there who actually shot this cartridge.

I am sure Dan at Mountain moulds could help you for a mould.
Over on the Accurate reloading forum, Double rifles section, they talk about using a bullet or boolit, 75% of factory weight, that should shoot close to POI. Ask over there, see what info you might get, also
