I had to share.

These are my first boolits!!

I smelt in a dutch oven and make ingots that get stored until ready to mold. Then I go at it.

These were made from ingots that are range scrap, roofing lead and ww's with a foot of plumbers solder thrown in a ten pound production pot. I used a Lee TL-452-200 mold, that I got info on how to condition off this board.

I already got them resized to 0.452 (they came out at 0.454) and lubed and awaiting loading.

Thanks for all the help.

They are pretty looking bullets; all shinny, they darn near look chrome.

Sean,

Ya done good.

I've found it takes a lot of heat, or tin, or both, to make those Tumble Lube micro-grooves come out sharp.

Some one may come along and tell you to save the pricey tin... I can find solder cheaper than wheel weights, so I never felt any particular need to conserve.

Thank you, they looked like Chrome for ten minutes until I tumble lubed them!!

I agree about the heat and tin. I used a thermometer that came with my turkey fryer, it goes to 750F. (Who knew??) I tried to keep the lead about 725- 750 when I was casting. The plumbers solder was the easiest place I knew to get tin, so I used it. So, I used both!!
