Howdy folks,

Could anybody tell me what the going price is for a mold for the Master Caster?

Also, what would you guys recommend in terms of a mold from Magma for these calibres

- 9mm - anything but 115 - so 124 or higher
- 357 - preferably 158
- 45 - only want 230 grain

I also think I should go with a flat base as the bevel seems to be a no go with the star lube-sizer.

Thanks for reading and would appreciate any advice you can give me.

I'm ordering from Europe and would like to get everything in one go - as I don't want to get caught twice for shipping and all the taxes :groner:

Cheers :drinks:

I use 125 grain RNBB, SWCBB, and TCBB. 158-SWCBB. I do not like the Magma 45-230-RNBB, but have two H&G #34 45-230-RNBB two cavity moulds for the Master Caster.

There is no problem with a Star doing bevel based boolits as long as you have the lube holes in the die plugged correctly.

I have not priced a mould from them for some time, so have no idea of current cost. You can find thier contact info here http://www.magmaengineering.com/.

Good luck

Thanks a lot for taking the time to reply.

Could you elaborate a bit on why you don't like the Magma 45-230-RNBB?

I shoot .45acp the most and it is definitely the mould I will be using the most.

I suspect I can take the master caster apart to just use the pot - I'd like to avoid getting a separate pot straight away.

Thanks again!
Paul

The Magma 45-230-RNBB is more of a 180 degree hemisphere with no ogive. Just looks stubby to me. I actually use H&G #68's in 185 and 200 grain. Also I modified a Saeco 45-230-RNBB to a 45-200-RNPB. Magma also has a 45-200-RNBB in thier catalog too.

The 45-185-SWCPB was my standard IPSC boolit until I switched to the 38 Super.

I think Magma wants $84.50 per mold.
