My first group buy mold has delivered the venison. This past Friday I hammered a 140 lb 6 point whitetail with my 45-70 using the 460350RFGC boolit. My load was 34.5 gr of H4198 with a CCI 200 primer. Alloy was wheel weight metal plus 2% tin. Weight with lube and check comes out to 352 gr. I estimate the velocity at approx. 1600fps from my Handi Rifle. The buck was working his way towards me from a distance of about 150 yards and as long as he was heading my way, I let him walk. He hung up at 125 yds and stood facing directly towards me. At this same location just 45 minutes earlier, a doe had done the same thing and had then turned into dense cover to never be seen again. I wanted a broadside shot but not wanting to miss the opportunity, I took the shot I had. The boolit entered dead center the brisket and he fell like he was hit by lightning. I was able to recover the slug from just under the skin on the backside of one rear ham. Retained weight was 310 gr and it had expanded to .650" Meat damage was very low. All in all, I'm quite please with the performance. Great boolit!

Excellent! Got pics?

No pictures, sorry. I don't even own a digital camera. Spent too much on gun stuff.

Was it a hollow point or flat point bullet?

It was the flat point.

Wow, why am I messing around with hp's? That solid FP seemed to work perfectly. I'll have to play around with some non hp'd bullets a little.

I thought about the HP also. I have yet to test but I like what I read and the pictures of the recovered 50/50 stick on clip on ww water dropped flat points.

Using a video camera to take a picture, I'm able to post an image of the recovered bullet. Sorry for the poor quality but it's the best I can do right now. Again, the alloy is wheel weights +2% tin and air cooled.
