Happy Days are here again. Remember that old song? Sometimes even a blind squirrel finds a nut.

I just picked up another Star lubrisizer with 6 dies for $100.00. http://www.lasc.us/thumbsup.gif

I just couldn't find it in my heart to say no.

Rick

I pick up the Star this afternoon so I don't know yet what the 6 dies are. I already have about 30 Star dies across several calibers so the odds are that these 6 dies will be duplicates, if so I'll offer them to the board at a decent price.

Interesting development. I got the Star but without the dies (well 2 anyway), he said he couldn't find them. From the tone of his voice I think he was fibbing. All is not lost though, he threw in a SAECO lubrisizer, a very old SAECO from when SAECO was in Carpenteria, CA. That pre-dates the years that John Adams (a friend of mine) owned SAECO, it was John that sold SAECO to Redding 25 years or so ago.

This SAECO machine is pristine, it had some pretty dried up lube of some sort in it (so did the star) and a really heavy coat of dust & dirt and minor surface rust on the exposed, non finished metal parts. Other than that I can't find a wear mark, a ding, scratch or anything else except some wear on the die lock nut. It cleaned up great and looks almost unused. It came with 6 dies 2 of which are rather strange. One is marked .2800 on the top and .280 on the bottom and sizes .279" (270 cal), the other is marked .2800 on top also and .282 on the bottom and sizes .282", kinda small for a 7mm and kinda big for 270.

All of this creates a perplexing problem. It was my intention to sell the Star dies at $20.00 ea x 6 = $120.00 and I had a free Star machine, doesn't get any better than that. I could sell the SAECO machine and come out great but to me at least it has some collectors value, not sure I want to sell it even though I already have a SAECO lubrisizer and most of the SAECO dies that came with it.

Life is sure tough with such problems to deal with. :veryconfu

I put the SAECO Lubrisizer up for sale in the Swappin & Sellin section. Anyone interested in the machine can find it here:

Cat,

Yep, deals like that don't come along all that often but nice it is.

The Avatar is the 45 270 gr SAA from a Miha Prevec 4 cav brass mold.
