OK, well I've have posted an ad in the classifieds looking for a 311010 mold. However, if for some reason I don't get any bites (which is good, as I've not seen one anywhere), what else is out there? The Lee is not going to work I dont think, as the addition of the extra band makes it a little too much bearing length for the neck of the cartridge (7.62x25). I could always crimp in the center band, but I'm looking for something a little more purpose built. Any ideas???

You're looking for the 100 gr PB RN? Get the Lee and have the GC cut off the bottom. That strongly tapered nose on the 010 looks like misalignment central to me anyways. Maybe the 311252? That was still in production last I knew.

The 311252 has the same issues the Lee does.... Thats why I'm specifically looking for something with the driving band dimensions of the 311010, as its front and rear bands are close enough together to fit the neck of the 7.62x25.

I use 311576 (120 gr. RNGC) in 7.62X25, .30 carbine, and ,327 mag. Might that work for you? Look also at Swede Larson's .30 cal HPs (NOE). They probly cast .314 though. I've cut open the lands on one .311576 to cast .316, and I size them .315".

The RCBS 30-85-RN was made for either the 30 luger or 30 mauser, I forget which. Should work with the Tok round. Kinda pricey though unless you can find a used one somewhere.

Leftiye, Its just too long I believe. I did a boolit exchange for 200 of the 311359 in hopes that it may work. The issue is that with the boolit seated to where it would need to be to function (the crimp groove) the lube grooves and gas check are below the neck. Seated out, one lube groove would be exposed, and the other partially exposed.

Hey Billy, yeah the problem with the RCBS is the same as the others. Its basically a exact copy of the 313249 for all practical purposes.

With the other boolits in the right weight available there is a similar issue. One would have to seat them out and expose the lube, or seat them too deep. Thats why I believe that the 311010 would be almost the perfect boolit for it, as it has very short driving bands and the proper nose profile for the round.

The thing about this caliber is that it needs a gas check, as some have clocked factory ammo at 16-1700 fps. The only problem, there isnt anything even close to what this boolit needs in the way of molds. And the closest I can find is the subject of this post.

Something that would be awesome would be a boolit with the nose profile of the 311359, without a crimp groove, but rather a combination lube groove/gascheck shank about .150 in total length. The gas check would stick down past the neck some, but would still be in the neck enough to work.

Leftiye, any chance of getting you to post a pic of the 311576 next to a x25 case for comparison?

I've been thinking of trying my Lyman 311227. It's a round nose bp 90gr and drops at .313. Does anyone have any load data?

How about a new group buy?

How about a new group buy?

Landric, that is an awesome idea. However, I'm not sure there is enough support to really get one off at a reasonable cost. But this is kinda what I have in mind, with the lube groove and gascheck shank described above.

I think it would be a good little round.

Post a thread in the group buy discussion section and see where it goes, you never know.

Two of my ideas have made it into actual group buys, a 200 grain SWC .360 and a .314 115 grain Keith, and I wasn't sure that there would be enough support for either. Give it a shot, you might just end up with exactly the mould you want.
