I have the "projected" BC on my laptop but won't be able to get to it until this afternoon.

charger 1,
I'm thinking about .30 B.C. Lyman's 457193 (Original .45-70 Marlin bullet) is listed at .307 @ 420 grs. but has a smaller .28"meplat (bullets fom my mold).

Your bullet is 10% heavier with a slightly bigger front end. I'm thinking the extra weight will equalize the larger meplat, at least at velocities below 1,400 f.p.s.

Nice looking bullet.

The Link to the Precision Ballistic Coefficient Estimator was missing a backslash. This one will get you there:

http://www.uslink.net/~tom1/calcbc/calcbc.htm

Entering the dimensions and weight gives the result as shown

http://breeze.linksky48.com/~tommyers/LinkSkyImages/Web%20BC.gif

I scaled out the dimensions from the photograph and entered the values into my Bullet Design Software and the only way I could get 460 grains was to use a Pure Lead alloy.
The drawing appears to be fatter than the one in the photo, but it is not,. Just and illusion.
Using a 1/20 Tin/Lead alloy, the software calculated a 445 grain bullet with a comparative estimated BC of 0.2761.
If the velocity range of this bullet is over Mach 1 then these estimates will probably be on the high side, but for velocities under Mach 1, they should not be too far off.

Two animals. A bang stick in between. The bang stick goes off. Both animals fall down. If I'm the animal that gets back up I win:twisted:

I'll remind you of that quote when you are posting that you are typing one-armed due to a recent shoulder separation :)

I'll tell you though it sure is sweet to be gettin FULL magnum velocity and energy from a magnum. When you wack the biggest poplar tree in the nearby boreal forest and put a 3' long split in it that you can see daylight through. God bless cast,God bless LBT,and God bless Jack Lott

Yep. Set up at @ 300 yards and see what it is. See how far it drops and you will have a very good idea what the BC is when you start it out that fast.

Bc and trajectory were a point of interest to me. My primary desire is to be able to hit an oncomming bear and give him the appearance of just having tried to crap out a beach ball
