Was out rummaging around the local yard sales today.... Didn't find anything in the 7 or 8 places I stopped at.... BUT the last place I stopped at was a true JACKPOT!! The family was selling everything in the house, the parents were deceased, and the son and daughter just wanted to get rid of everything...

I found a H&G 10 cav #50BB with handles laying on a table with other different non-gun related tools... I grabbed it and ask how much they wanted for it.. The guy say $10 and it is yours... I paid him fast... Then I asked if there was anything else that was gun related around... He took me over to an old shed and said take a look in there and see what you can find.... Didn't find any molds or reloading equipment but there was 7 ammo cans loaded with ammo, 1300 rds of 45 ACP military RA 68 and a total of 806 rds of 30-06... All the ammo was still in the mil pack boxes and M1 clips... Got all the ammo for $100.00...

Don't think I will ever find a deal like that again.

I just saw a used H&G Hensley & Gibbs 6 cav Bullet mold #50BB 38 cal WC online for $153. I'd say you got a good deal, regardless if you have a .38 or not.

I hope you stopped & bought a lottery ticket on the way home too.

HeavyMetal, the son said that his father use to make some of his own ammo many many years ago but gave it a long time ago... other than the H&G 50BB mould there wasn't anything else related to shooting or casting there other than the ammo I found in the shed.

bhn22, no I didn't buy a lottery ticket but I probably should have, I was in a hurry to get home and go through my lucky find.

If you DON'T have a .38, the acquisition pretty much requires you get one. I was at a gun show and saw old RCBS custom dies in .17 Mach IV for $10. Had to buy them. Then had to buy a .17 Mach IV barrel for my TC Contender Carbine. Then forming dies, then brass to form, then bullets, then powder, then a trip to South Dakota to use the gun on Prairie Dogs. The best one I know of was a friend got gifted 2 boxes of .35 Rem brass and he did his duty and bought a gun to use the brass in.
