...............I feel kind of odd posting this because it's really no big deal nor will it have much effect on anyone. However I suppose mainly I just don't want someone thinking it's them, or some such. So I thought I'd just generally mention it. Nor do I want anyone to think I am not gratefull for the work they've sent me to be done, by any means. After all, I AM getting paid to do it :-), and that money is supporting the whole machining thing.

Nor am I suggesting that should someone need something I can do, that I'd rather they not PM or e-mail me about it. Please continue to do so.

What the deal is, is that we're going to be adding a bathroom and a sizeable room addition (NOT to the shop, dagnabit!). I'm drawing all the plans for the city and will be doing the electrical, interior finish and external finish carpentry. We'd also planned on widening the driveway, and adding a fence on the north side of the house, long with some brickwork.

Add in the fact that I have a continually growing list of personal projects that have just been accumilating for quite some time. I'm rapidly running out of 'back burners' for them.

In essence I'm just going to have to ask folks to give me a bit more time to get their stuff done. I need to intersperse some other stuff in there too. I've always tried for a 2 week turnaround which didn't always happen, but I'd have liked for it to have :-) So maybe now it might be 2 weeks like before, or maybe a month.

So don't let that deter you from checking with me, but please understand that it might take a couple weeks longer then before. The work I currently have on hand I'll try to get that right out.

Yeah. I was gonna write a letter to Jimmy Carter with a couple of ideas for getting the hostages out of Iran...but I have seem to have put that off for too long, too.

I went through the add on bit a couple years ago. Don't know how I could have done it if I had been working full time. Well I was working full time on that project---I meant a full time job elsewhere. For past year or so my full time job has pretty much been holding down my porch swing. This requires more work than is first apparent. First off it can get cold in winter. First fix was to get a wood burning outdoor fireplace. That became a full time job and took me away from holding the porch swing down. Having to cut firewood and keep the fire going. So I fixed that. Spent a little time and plumbed natural gas to both my front porch and my patio in back(where I have a second porch swing---I am dedicated to holding the swings down). Put a Weber flame on the patio and converted the woodburner to gas. Now can devote more time to holding the swings down as Im not up and down tending fires and out cutting wood. I get paid from two sources for not working and I do a splendid job. Get a pay raise every year from my valiant effort. Must say it is taking it's toll so tomorrow morning I'm flying to Utah for a week or so visit with a couple of my daughters there. While there be taking a few days trip to Yellowstone park and make a visit to the casinos in Wendover NV. For those not familar Wendover is on the Utah/Nevada border and is where the crew for the Enola Gay did their training. Probably doesnt mean much to most that it is on the border. Most think Nv and the brothels. To have a brothel,it has to be 60 miles from the border,so Wendover has none. Guess it was appropriate to mention that as the title of thread is "slowing down on machining".

Shucks I thought you were slowing down for something good - like hunting season!

Good luck on your Honey Do lists. I am still kicking around a fw projects I would like to discuss with you - maybe after the first of the year.
