i just cast about 400 of these 155 grain keith hollow points. i'm gonna try them in my nef 357 rifle. the cavity seems quite deep, anyone tried these in expansion tests? i'm using ac ww+ a little tin sized .358"

I tried that a couple years back and found they acted like Nosler partition bullets by expanding, shedding the nose and the core penetrating. IMO straight WW metal is too brittle for HP's. I would recommend something in the range of 20/1 to 30/1 lead/ tin for those HP's.

PS. I just reread the post and saw Nef rifle. I blew the nose off them with a handgun at 1200 fps so it will be even quicker with the rifle cause you'll be going 1500-1600 fps. For the rifle I'd lean towards 15-20/1 lead tin.

thanks fecmech, i'll have to use them for target work.i'll have to mix up softer alloy and make some more. it's quite a slow process and the first time i've used a hollow point mould.

Usng a Lyman type HP mold is a labor of love no doubt about it!

I'll agree that WW, at least the clip on stuff, is to brittle to use for serious HP molding.

Stick on WW with about 3 % tin added will be a lot more pliable than the high Antimony stuff.

Be aware that while you are playing with alloy content you are also playing with boolit weight as well.
