I have a Lott built on a Mauser action and would like to have some light loads to shoot. I had some loaded with Unique that were fun, but I shot them and forgot what they were loaded with. I have some 350's, 405's, and 500's? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Vince

How light is light? I have loaded 60 grains of H4895 behind 500 grain plane base and 420 grain paper patched bullets. Still kicks in my Ruger #1, but not like 80 grains under a 500... I can shoot about as many as I'm willing to pay for at 60 grains.

Some pistol powder loads would be nice, but the case is so huge I wonder about ignition...

jcadwell, yes, I would like some loads with Unique or 2400, something kids, women, or "girlie men" could shoot and have fun. Those big loads aren't fun!

Thanks,
Vince

The Alliant web site has data for 2400 in the .458WM. You could probably extrapolate for the Lott. If you stay below the .458WM max load, you should be safe.

I have used a mid-range 2400 load with 400gr HB bullets in my .458WM. They were quite accurate.

You should also try some 5744. It seems to work well for the loads you are contemplating. I know there is .458WM data on the Accurate web site. I'm not sure about the Lott. Also, I use the 45-90 data to estimate light loads.
