I went to the dentist yesterday. They did a set of X-rays, and so I asked the tech if there was lead inside the little 'wings' that they put inside your mouth. She told me that no, it was aluminum foil in there.

I didn't argue, because I really don't know, but I seem to remember folks here saying that they actually contained some lead.

Does anyone have a definitive answer on this? I'd like to collect their lead if that's what's in those, but maybe they're using aluminum inside now?

That aluminum is actually lead, or it used to be as of a couple of years ago. ... felix

Rebliss, what you want is the lead foil the film is shipped in. The lead is stripped off before the film is put in your mouth.

I have a 50 pound box of those little wings and they are lead, almosty pure lead and they make mighty fine bullets.

I was given three boxes of the "wrappers" and they melted down into some mighty fine ingots.

Lot of hassles with teh trash as well as I remember but worth the effort./beagle
