I saw a thread about some custom made brass molds that got some great reviews and can't find it again. If anybody knows what molds I'm talking about and has a link I would appreciate it.

I know of four besides Mihec who has already been mentioned that make good molds from Brass:

1 ~ Accurate Molds in Utah - http://www.accuratemolds.com is the new guy out there and there have been several threads discussing his molds as of late so this may be who you are thinking of. I have not yet ordered from him myself but will be putting an order in the mail this upcoming Wednesday (pay day) based off of others good experiences and my e-mail correspondence with him so far.

2 ~ Mountain Molds in Idaho - http://www.mountainmolds.com is a proven and excellent mold maker with a long track record. Unfortunately, this means he is always swamped and it is usually anywhere between three and six months lead time on a mold from him. Also, if it can't be done on his online design program he won't do it - he expects people to work with his online design program and take responsibility for the details of their own design. Always check his FAQ page before asking him any questions because if you ask him a question via. e-mail or his forum that he already has answered in his FAQ section you will tick him off. Like most true craftsman he has limited patience with people who can't seem to figure things out for themselves and ask "dumb" questions. He is a great guy and does great work just telling you what buttons not to push.

3 ~ Old West Bullet Moulds - http://www.oldwestbulletmoulds.com is a long standing mold company that has been under new management and ownership for the last few years. Some claim the new guy isn’t what the old guy was but others indicate he is just fine. This company uses the cherry cutting method to make molds instead of lathe boring and thus custom one of a kind designs cut to your specs. will have the extra expense and lead time involved with cutting a new cherry. If you order from him and it is a single mold not a group buy order it would be best to choose one of his existing designs.

4 ~ Doughty Enterprises in Montana - http://www.doughtyent.com is the guy to go to if you want a particular mold that has a very "unique" design that requires an extra special touch and may require unconventional machining techniques for making the mold such a milling from the mating face side. His prices are fair and his lead time is long but so long as you are nice and polite and reasonably minded and willing to accept his input and judgment you can talk him into cutting some very unique mold designs that it would be difficult or impossible to get a regular run of the mill mold company to make for you.
