I think I may already know the answer to my question, but here it is: Does anyone make a universal extended shell holder? One you would snap onto your press ram and then put the shell holder of choice on it. Would eliminate having a bunch of dedicated extended S/Hs. TIA. Emery

..............Does, "Not that I'm aware of" constitute a legitimate answer? :-)

I have one that a friend made for me a few years ago......custom made to use on the bullet pullers he used to sell. I've thought about trying to duplicate it on my lathe. I might give it another look.....

Lee or RCBS had one. I think. I kind of remember seeing one. Sorry don't have their catalogs.

Buckshot, I was with you thinkin' they don't exist. However, a feller over on another forum said that RCBS "useta have 'em". I haven't been able to call them to verify that. 454pb, if you get around to it, I could be interested, or Buckshot for that matter. Emery

RCBS did use to have them. they were recommended for very short psitol rounds so you didn't have to stroke the press all the ways.

I haven't looked to see if they still make it.

I know just what you want and I have one .
RCBS made a ********* progressive atachment that fit on the Rack Chucker called a Piggy Back ( not sure if the newer versions are better or not)

But to attach the ram to the add on unit they used a extended shell holder

I long ago scraped the ********* , but kept a few usable parts .

Look at http://rcbs.com , then click on Parts Book .
Look at Piggy Back .

It is the part that ataches the press ram to the Piggy Back ram .

Call RCBS and tell them you lost it .
They may send you one for free

Nope, a friend found one in his "parts and pieces from auctions/garage sales" box. A little light rust, but it cleaned up nicely. Thanks to all for your help.
