I say we all take a moment to remember the fallen and remember the horrendous attack on our great Nation on September 11,2001. Also those who have given their lives since to ensure that such an atrocity does not reoccur.

An older man that teaches history with Marie at her school said something yesterday that kind of resonated with me. His view is that as a nation we have just only recently been able to view Pearl Harbor with a fully appreciative and comprehensive context, and that it is too soon to really put the World Trade Center in that sort of context.

We are still fighting those same or similar Islamofascists in several places in the world. For my childrens' generation, this is their World War. They are being shaped by the atrocities of these savages in a very similar way to the way our Greatest Generation was influenced by Bataan and Auschwitz. I have had the great privilege to meet many of the young men and women who have served and are serving in Iraq and Afghanistan, and in my estimation they are every inch and ounce another Great Generation. Every one of those young people is an inspiration to this old copper.

And armed is how me must remail.
Here's to the men and women putting it on the line to insure our way of life.
Bless us all.

AND - those that have given some or given all for all the past conflicts that make our lives possible!

You know it really didn't hit me today until I was out running my machines in the shop and FOX was playing non-stop audio from the attack.

A lady was talking to her son via cell phone who was on the plane that crashed. She told him to do what ever he could to stop them, as she explained what the terrorists had done to the Trade Center and they meant business. She said she loved him.

She sounded exactly like my mother.

I had to stop.
