8 - Calibers
34 - Bullet Moulds Cast With and 4 Different Jacket Bullets
5095 - Bullets in Inventory
High Inventory
550 - Lyman 454190
525 - Lyman 457132

It had to be done to determine what all bullets I have in inventory - number of bullets - sort by caliber/mould back on the shelf and determine which bullets needed to be cast. Bullet Inventory Spreadsheet prepared to go along with Mould Inventory spreadsheet

Looks like you need a few "all-niter" casting sessions.. Build that stock up some. ;)

You are a sick man, John. :kidding:

Everybody knows you count boolits by the container; coffee can, paint can, peanut butter jar, or box, just to name a few. If the conatiner isn't at least half full, you obviously don't have enough.

I have about 4 apple boxes full with various sizes of no more than 3 caliber in each box. i have some that the molds are gone that I hope I never get a fabulous load with as I couldn't duplicate it.

Is that lbs of Boolits out of that mould ? LOL

Best I have is 25 - 30 LB of a 150 gr boolit for the 38/357
But those need to be sized and lubed

Maybe we ought to take up a collection. This is one poor man, that's only about 1400 boolits.

Geez, you guys are tough!
One must recognize, I shoot primarily match bullets that have a variance of plus or minus 0.5gr. Except for the 454190's all bullets get their own hole in the styrofoam trays to keep them from banging because they are all soft alloys

Blammer
09-10-2010, 09:38 PM
well, ya need MORE styrofoam trays!

and you need to just shoot up them others as plinkers.

I figure my inventory too low when I can lift the can with one hand.
The cans do have handles too.

Not to mention the 5 gallon bucket. I only did that once. I was water dropping 230 grain 45 bullets and got carried away. That bucket sat there for a while.

sorry, i am not going to take 3 or 4 days to seperate, organise, and count every last boolit that i have. way to much work. if i cant find something, i'll just go cast up another 20 pounds of it. if i find them later on, the, IF I CAN REMEMBER where they are, i will know i have 2 cans full! LOL! besides, unless the basement floor cracks, you can never have to many boolits.

I keep a thousand each of 09-125-SWCBB, 38S-145-SWCBB, 38S-158-SWCBB, 40-175-TCBB, and 45-185-SWCBB in the loading room. The 09's and supers are in 1,000 count boxes, the 40's and 45's are in 500 count boxes. If I should need more, I just raid the casting shop shelves!

I always load a thousand at time. My pistol loads are set in stone and have been for decades. They work and I see no reason to change. Yup, crusty, opinionated Ole Fart...That's me!

My thought exactly! If I were to count my boolits... I'd have to take a week off from school!

I'll weigh my stash in the morning... even that is going to take time!

I have a parts counter that was the best $150.00 I ever spent. I can inspect and count a thousand boolits in less than ten minutes. Kind of looks like a scale. ;-) Bought it when I was selling boolits.

Any way we could see a picture? The thing that comes to my mind is something like the pharmacists use to count pills.

Thanks,

Robert

You are trying to make me feel inadequate. I do not even know how many coffee cans of some designs I have. I guess I will have to take time out and count 3 pound coffee cans. I may weigh them too while I am at it.

I've got some pics some where, I'll see if I can find them.

It's basicly a comparator scale. The balance arm has two cups on it. One is one to ninty nine, the other is one to nine.

In other words one in the cup and ninty nine in the tray equals 100. ten in the cup and nine hundred and ninty in the tray equals a thousand. Put the number you want ln the cups, add items to the tray until the needle hits "0" and you're done. The tray will hold about 2,500 H&G #68 45-200-SWCB.

The scale is used to count bolts, nuts, screws, etc. I used one when I worked for a company that made punches and dies for stamping presses.

As some of you know I have some bad health problems. I decided to do something similar to what John did so that I would not leave my wife flat. I worked and listed bullets loaded and amount to charge for. I did the same for my guns. Well you would need a full time employee to stay current. I sold 25 boxes of loaded 45 Colt BP loads to T-Bone and the guns to go with them to another pard. I now shoot 44-40 for about 9 months and no change in the list. I've been too busy casting new bullets. Oh I almost forget about the 5 guns in 44-40. My good system has fallen apart and I 'm back to square one!!

Right on brother! A three pound coffee can is the boolit casters' standard unit of measure....isn't it? A two pounder is what you carry live rounds out to the shooting range in and one pounders are for the empty brass you carry back to the tumbler

My step son needs to get back to work on the reloading shed...I need the panelling and shelving put up so I can get those three pound cans off some of the floor.

Okay, that makes sense. I'll look for one on the net.

I've never quite managed posting pictures either, even after reading the sticky about it. It probably doesn't help that every time I want to my daughter says the camera is broken; then I see her using it the next day.
