New melting pot score

Was at a flea market and found a cast iron tea kettle the other day. $10. What a silly idea- either it is well seasoned and you get oil in your tea, or it isn't, and you get rust..... so I thought 'hmm....lid.......handle.......spout for easy pouring....will hold about 3/4 of a gallon......guess what I can use THAT for!' ;)

I regularly spend time looking through the cast iron offerings on eBay. You can always find teapots available for sale. I have often entertained the same thoughts as you.

My particular use would be for mixing alloys. I haven't gone for it so far because I would like to see a pot with straight sides and a wide opening on top...for ease of fluxing the 'special' contents.
