I haven't yet started casting my own but likely will start this coming Spring. In the mean time I am shooting commercial cast bullets. I recently purchased a batch of
.313" 118gr Magnus cast bullets for my 32/20. I do not know their hardness but had a buddy that pushed them fast without issues. Do any of you have any experience with Magnus? I would like to get them into the 1600-1700 fps range but wonder if that will cause leading issues. I have shot mostly Lasercast 115gr since getting this 1894CL in 2005 when they resumed manufacturing them for a while. Does anyone have a favorite "high-velocity" load for the 32/20 and 115-120grain cast bullets they would share?

Those bullets usually work fine in the 32-20. If they don't want to shoot, sometimes you can melt out the factory lube and apply some real bullet lube to them. Then they'll work as well as real home made boolits. For fast loads I have been having good luck with accurate #5 in my cadet.

I tried them over 5 years back in 44 mag. Did not finish out the box and gave them to someone who didn't cast.

I use them (240 RNFP) for plinking, in my 1894 Marlin 44 Magnum, when I get truly lazy. They work to the point I have even used them to take a whitetail doe, one season. I have also used them in 9mm (125 RN) with satisfactory results.
