I am going to go look at one of these. I don't own any gun that I don't shoot. So does anyone here own one and shoot modern 22 shorts out of it? I really don't want to just shoot CBs out of it. For what its worth I have a Colt lightning 22 that I shoot modern shorts and longs out of it with no problems. thanks ahead of time.

Modern shorts are a lot hotter than BP shorts. I don't imagine that they would blow the gun up, but they might erode the throat some.

I'm no gunsmith but, considering what a 1873 Winchester was chambered in, it seems to me that even modern 22 shorts are pretty mild. No? Seems a meer pipsqueek compared to a 44WCF.

I'll start out with CB shorts, then standard velocity and if all checks out I'll go to high power.
