Have two lee 8mm molds. One casts 225, the other 254 gr. and both shoot well in my rifle over 17 gr. of 2400. Am looking for anybody else who has these molds and has worked up data other than just my 17 gr. of 2400 load. Am interested in any powder combination, and with or W/O fill. Would like to find loads that would be up around 2000-2100 fps with either of both of these blts. Thanks in advance to all who respond to this thread.

...........Well this might have gotten a bit more attention over in CB Military rifles or Cast Boolits, but it's fine here too :-)

Using this boolit, which weighs 236 - 240 grs and was a GB done through Lee about 6 years ago, I reached 2300 fps avg velocity using a M38/46 Turk Mauser with a 24" barrel. The powder was the slow lot of surplus WC852. It worked out to be a bit slower then IMR4831, so unless you have some slow WC852, I'd suggest 4831, or something like it.

I started with 48.0 grs and Grex filler, until I reached a point where I COULDN'T use the filler, which was a bit after I'd begun using a drop tube to get more powder in the case.

I use a full case of Aussie AR2217,about 50grns behind the Lee maximum. In your part of the woods it's called H1000.It hits hard at both ends. Pat
