Tried playing with these decades ago but the rifle I had, just had too quick a twist.
Finally got around to trying these again in a 1-15" twist gun.

Cast some boolits in a NEI mould at 600 grains and a custom Hoch mould (looks like the RCBS 35-200)at 715 grains. Both boolits were cast using WW/Lino in a 10/1 ratio and dropped in water, from the mould. Sized in a .512 sizer using a mix of 3 parts Orange Magic, 2 parts Super Moly, and one part SPG.

Went to the range today and tried my Grizzly first with the NEI bullet(upper left group)with one called flyer(farthest left). Second group was the same NEI bullet, but also tumbled with LEE liquid Alox after sizing/lubing. Lower left group was this load with the farthest hole from the first shot with the bullet with the extra lube. Velocity was 1967 fps with a 10mph wind at 9 o'clock.

Righthand group was shot with the Hoch mould in an AR50. Not as good a group, but I understand that they have a long throat. Velocity was 200 fps lower out of the AR50, shooting the NEI bullet through the Chronograph. All loads were loaded with 125gr of surplus IMR 4895. Tried 130,135 and 140gr with the Hoch bullet. Velocities increased from 1755 to 2032,2165 and 2235 respectfully. Only one each loaded for Chrony check. Will try grouping with increased powder charge. No leading evident. Not too bad, a plinking load that generates nearly 8000 ft-lbs:mrgreen: All groups at 100 yds.

Should be the AR50 in front and the LAR Grizzly in the rear.

Haven't tried it much with J-bullets yet. Just started to and the scope went south after 50 shots or so. Just got the other scope on it. Thought I would try the cast first.
