My wife called and said Freddy showed up with some lead. She said he dumped it in the driveway, in front of the detached garage. She also said, "I couldn't get a hold of you, but I figured you would want it." Smart woman.

I'll pay 40 cents a pound since that is what the scrapyard pays, and it is delivered.

Not bad at all.........what alloy is it or do you have straight lead there in your drive.

Yup, That's pure PB. Roof flashing I would guess.

Roof flashing it is. Pure lead with some solder on the joints.

And it doesn't appear to have much roofing tar on it. I'll bet you have at least a 1/2 - 3/4 ton there...Ray

I ended up with 862 pounds and we split the price. I called the cheapskates here in town and they were paying 40 cents and the place south of town was paying 60 cents. We settled on 52 and it came out to $450. The great thing was that they loaded it into buckets, put it on the scale and put it in the garage.

I think I am well set now since I bought 600# from him earlier and I got this pile of lead pipe for free. I also have at least 1000 pounds of WW ingots.

[smilie=b: As if I wasn't having a bad enough day. . . :groner:

A big CONGRATS on the alloy score, though! (As I keep repeating, "Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's lead, Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's lead, Thou shalt not. . .)

And to think I only got 8-25lb bricks of isotope container lead for free today. Nice haul.

You know, if you guys are feeling guilty about it you could always donate the unwanted lead to Bob's Boolit Fund:kidding:.
