Morning to all, I've a armi-sport zouave and since its too darn hot here in louisiana to start casting boolits for it, decided to find what the twist rate is on these rifles. So does anyone have any info regarding what twist is/was used?. Thanks, Frank

A lot of the .58 replicas use 1 in 48". Put a tight patch on your cleaning rod and measure it.

I believe the original Zouave by Remington had a 1:66...not real sure what that Armi-sport might have, but I would suspect it to be rather slow.

For sure that's the only way to know. With the really slow twist bores you'll have to use some math to derive the twist rate but with some careful measurements you should be able to come close enough.

Howdy Frank
My Zoli is one of the older ones brought in by Navy Arms about 1980 + - . I was used when I bought it in 1989. That one has a 1-66 twist and maybe a bit more towards 1-70 as best I could get it figured. It will not shoot any mini but will really group a .570 with 85 grains 2F.
I have nailed a good dozen corn crunchers and even got 2 once with one shot.. both through the chest sideways at 35 yards.
