First time out with the Ranch Dog in the K, so thought I would try 8 gr. of 2400 and White Lab (Can Red). At 50, it kept 5 in about an inch and a half. At 100, it stayed under 2". Shows a lot of potential. Was in the low 90's and there was a whale of a lot of mirrage, very little wind, :coffeecombut all things considered, am not unhappy with the little gun and first load. Would be interested in the info from anyone elso who has the Ranch Dog 22, and what kind of results you have gotten from what ever ctg. and load.

1Shirt,
I only got the same mold a couple weeks ago, and have tried just one load so far. It does show alot of promise. the load was 7-7 grains of LilGun. I posted a few days ago under CB Loads- Your favorite cartridge; 22 K hornet nearly there. Have a look there. Pic is 10 shots at 75metres.

Euan, Nice group! Will try your load w/L'ill Gun. Have had problems with L'ill Gun in full power loads w/J on hot days over 90 degrees. Not supposed to be heat sensitive, but above 90, it sure was for me. I cast very hard for 22's, and the BH on mine run in the 27-28 area. I use White Lable Canuba Red lube on everything I cast because it works so well. Please let me know as you continue testing what your loads are and also your results. I have also had very good luck in the K with 225348 and 4227, with some 5 shot groups at 100 hovering around an inch/inch and a half. Rifle is an old #3 Ruger. Would like a longer bbl, but the thing still shoots J's under an inch at 100 and is my go to for under 200 yd p-dog shooting. Have taken a couple of dogs at around the 100 mark with cast, and am in hopes of getting cast loads with it that will take dogs consistantly out to 150.

Kerb, Have never posted a picture of anything. Maybe Euan can help you there. Go to Ranch Dog Molds. Maybe he has some left.

Kirb,

Go to:

http://www.ranchdogmolds.com/

and look in the lower left panel for

TLC225-50-RF (http://www.ranchdogmolds.com/TLC22550RF/GroupBuy)

Then look for the small bullet icon in the upper right labeled:

TLC225-50-RF (http://www.ranchdogmolds.com/Ranch_Dog_Molds/Marlin%20Leverguns/Gas%20Checked%20Bullets/TLC225-50-RF/index.html)
Gallery (http://www.ranchdogmolds.com/Ranch_Dog_Molds/Marlin%20Leverguns/Gas%20Checked%20Bullets/TLC225-50-RF/index.html)

Click that and you will be directed to the data for that bullet in various chamberings.

It appears that the group buy for that bullet is closed, but don't give up hope yet. The Dog is always full of surprises.

I will have this design available online approximately November.
