i recently bought a mold online here for the .432-265 RF (RD) for my .444.
The picture and description of the bullet had a gascheck so i thought cool, lets get it.
it went on to say that cavities could be made with out a gascheck in the same mold, didn't pay much attention to that part. it's my first ever mold and wanted a good one... only today did i realize that some other molds had a GC in their title. so did i buy a 265 grain mold with no gascheck?

First of all breath, relax, it'll be ok.
Now, why don't you pm Swede and ask him for sure, most of these are cut with a gas check, all 5 cavities.
Also, don't know where you got the .312, but this does appear to be a .432 mould. Is that your understanding?

Heavy lead,... ok, im cooling off. and thanks it is a .432, i don't know where i got that from. And yeah, i PM'd Swede and i guess all i can do is wait. im just ticked that i sold a 30-30 that i was rather fond of so i could afford to buy this mold at this time, thinking they wouldn't last long. i thought hey, when am i going to see an NOE 265g RD design again and bit the bullet ....

....and wouldn't you know it, the 165 Ranch Dog .312" .30-30 extraordanaire is being re-run, too!

I bought that same mold in the group buy. I got a 4 cavity, and spec'd it 3 PB and 1 GC. Most (maybe all) of my shooting will be 44 Mag pistol, and the PB boolits will be fine for that.
I did notice that the boolits from this mold are so smooth and shiny that it is a bit hard to distinguish the 1 GC boolit from the 3 PBs when they drop.
My question to you is how did you spec your mold? IIRC, they are GC molds unless you spec them PB. I think all RD designs are GC unless modified.

30-30's are only going for $125 Canadian? The exchange rate is a killer!
:kidding:
I am sure Swede will work with you on this.

Ha ha... tres droll ;)
I used the rest of the money for an RCBS lubamatic, sizing die, mold handles and gaschecks.

And Swede has been nothing but helpfull. Very stand-up guy. he was more than willing to work with me but thankfully my green'ness was the only problem. ya'll were right and they are all GC unless otherwise specified. My mold is GC, and i am relieved because i was/am really looking forward to having cast bullets in this weight. i find 265-280 a nice balance of power and shoot all day comfortability.

Some learn by reading,

Some learn by hearing,

Then there is the guy that has to whiz on an electric fence.

OOPS. Missed it after reading three times. I was all excited thinking there were some plain base 432-265s out there.

there is,,,,,if you order the mold that way.
that's the nice thing about custom, you just gotta read the forms carefully.

Good morning
Surprisingly plain base boolits shoot surprisingly well at very resonable velocities that will certainly deminish the walking capabilities of most 4 legged creatures this side of our world.
Consider my old 1876 45-60... it shoots a 275 grainer real nice chugging along at that breakneck velocity of almost 1300 fps and was a noted cartrige for the termination of BIG plant crunchers and griz.
So I think a .432 265 plain base grainer plodding along at 1500 fps could be counted on to handle anything you or I will ever see in the bushes.
