A little more than a year ago I bought a new Lyman 314299 hoping to feed a Mosin with big grooves . The mold didn't cast any bigger than .312" on the body and .302 on the nose . Might work fine for a thirty caliber but not likely gonna do much in a .314" Russian rifle .

Recently I took a chance on a used 311299 that was still in the gray and black box . I cleaned it up and cast a few with it and oddly enough they cast at just over .315" with a .3015 nose . One cavity sticks a great deal and the other isn't to bad . Next time maybe I'll spend a little more time looking for burrs or soften the alloy a bit .

A fella just doesn't know what a mold will do huh?

Nope, not till you cast with your alloy you don't. Good for you.
